Allegheny Landing holds an important place in Pittsburgh's urban history as its first modern riverfront park, dedicated in 1984. Situated on the North Shore between the Roberto Clemente and Andy Warhol Bridges, its creation marked a pivotal moment in reclaiming the city's waterfront from its industrial past for public use. It was also one of the nation's first urban riverfront sculpture parks, featuring commissioned abstract works like George Sugarman's vibrant Pittsburgh Variations and Isaac Witkin's river-inspired The Forks. The park’s key feature is its dual role as a public art gallery and a major node on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, popular for walking and biking. The nature view is a stunning blend of the natural and the man-made. The Allegheny River flows directly past the landing, framed by the two distinctive yellow "Sister Bridges," while the dramatic backdrop is the rising skyline of Downtown Pittsburgh. This scenic viewpoint offers a feeling of urban tranquility and renewal, serving as a peaceful green sanctuary that allows visitors to connect with the city's vibrant culture and powerful natural geography.

Shore Thing is a definite must! If you haven't been, put that at the top of your list. Pittsburgh is a great city so add this spot on your list!

Great space! It was completely full when we arrived, sadly nowhere to hang out, got some pics and will be back another time 🙂

ideal for an excellent walk, many wonderful views, clean and quiet place. You can find people doing exercises, walking their dogs, tourists. It is easily accessible for people who use wheelchairs, there is a ramp that takes you to the entire River. In the back is the baseball stadium, so you can give your structure a view from outside.

Great space with some of the best views of the downtown Pittsburgh skyline. A must visit for photographers. Lovely walk along the water (Allegheny and Ohio rivers) going in either direction. Right next to PNC Park (Home of the Pirates) and Acrisure Stadium (Steelers) a bit further west. A few museums also in the immediate area: the Andy Warhol Museum, the Childrens Museum and the Carnegie Science Center. You can walk across most (if not all) of the bridges into the downtown area. I ended up parking downtown and walking across the Roberto Clemente bridge to the Landing area...perfect walk for a mild summer night. Safe even after dark with walkers, runners and bikers present. Lots of parking lots in the surrounding areas given the number of stadiums and museums nearby.

Cool spot not far from PNC Park. It has some place to sit and artwork to view. It is right on the river as well, with views of the buildings across the river.
