Sunset Sail Salem

This was the absolute highlight of our trip to Salem! The When and If Schooner is a gorgeous piece of history cared for by a caring, professional, and exuberant crew who are passionate about sharing their love of tall ship sailing with everyone! We were welcomed and instructed in emergency procedures and basics of sailing when we boarded and soon we were invited to help raise the sails! It was amazing to work with the crew to get her underway! Definitely a once in a lifetime chance. We were offered wool blankets to take the chill off and invited to walk about the deck, take a turn at the wheel, and visit the cabins below deck as we sailed. The crew shared stores with off, offered us history of the area and an adult beverage, including hot spiked cider. There were only 8 guests sailing with the crew of 3, so we all got to visit, talk, learn, and hoist as we sailed the harbor and admired the sunset for 2 hours. I would strongly recommend this opportunity to everyone and anyone. 1939 wooden tall ships are a piece of history that you can enjoy today.

Had a lovely time on this sunset cruise. The crew was amazing. They were knowledgeable about the boat. It was a great experience perfect weather and the scenery was amazing. Oh!! And I got to help raise a sail - so clearly I’m a sailor now

Enjoyed my third sunset sail with this company, this time on Malabar X (we've previously sailed on When & If). Every experience is better than the last. The crew is great, the schooners are beautiful and it's always fun to see the coastline from the water. Highly recommended for tourists and locals alike. This is a great option for breaking away from the crowds downtown and experiencing the maritime aspects Salem and the North Shore have to offer. Thank you for another great memory!

Relaxing sail yesterday on the fabulous When and If! So glad she's back in Salem Harbor til end of season (October 31). See reviews from prior years under Google's When and If search. October visitors-- this is best way to break from Fall crowds, see a side of Salem many miss. Libations served, the crew is delightful, the yacht is rock steady and the sea air is restorative!

Put this amazing journey on your bucket list! This was by far the best sailing adventure I’ve ever been on. Exciting, enchanting and exhilarating. Very professional crew and accommodating to the needs of its guests. Huge variety of alcoholic beverages for a reasonable fee. Highly recommend this trip. Our first but definitely not our last.

Our sunset cruise on the When and If was absolutely magical. The boat is beautiful, the crew was welcoming, and the views from the water as the sun went down were breathtaking. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure—an unforgettable evening!

The crew really made this a wonderful experience! They are very passionate about sailing and have interesting stories to share. We had opportunities to be interactive with the sails and the crew had many drinks to help ease conversation with fellow riders. The view alone makes it well worth it!
