Pier 40

Such a beautiful place. While the pier could use some trash cans and cleaning, the overall aesthetic to the place is absolutely stunning. You can sit and listen to a game from Oracle park or you can sit there and fish or do both it's just absolutely beautiful.

Pier 40 is a well-maintained marina offering beautiful views of the water. It's a popular spot for boating and relaxing by the bay. The facilities are good, and the area is clean and inviting.

I absolutely love Pier 40 and South Beach Harbor Marina! The whole area is incredibly fun and offers something for everyone. The marina is very well run by the Port of San Francisco and the South Beach Harbor staff, who are super friendly and easy to work with. They’re available almost every day, and there’s always someone on hand in case of an emergency. The facilities are top-notch, featuring a guest dock with a pump-out station, a yacht club, sailing lessons, and activities for both disabled and non-disabled individuals. All ramps are ADA compliant, ensuring accessibility for all visitors. You can charter a sailboat or powerboat, rent a kayak from City Kayak, or go on a unique waterbiking tour with SpinOut Fitness—both are open and accessible via the guest dock on the north side of the marina opposite the stadium. Surrounded by cafes, bars, and delicious restaurants, you’re never far from a great meal or a refreshing drink. Oracle Park, aka Giants Stadium, is right next door, making it a perfect spot for sports fans. The area is easy to find and navigate. Just remember to park on the street and not in the private lot unless you have a permit—that’ll save you a $90 parking ticket! Pier 40 is not like Peir 39 a tourist destination. I visited this place as a sailing company we hired for sailing on the bay that has docking here. You will have Oracle park adjacent to the SFO train station nearby. There is a lot of parking around but note many of them are closed to the public by 2pm so you plan accordingly.

A little hard to get into, but City Kayak was fantastic to work with and we had a fun outing. Appropriate for all levels and very knowledgeable.
