There is no better deal in NYC than the Staten Island Ferry. Free rides and fabulous views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. You can take your bike onto the ferry as well.

This is such a fun thing to do, I’ve visited NYC quite a few times for fun and also work, but never took the time to go over to Staten Island. Well….that was dumb. I had zero idea it was free, what a nice surprise in a city draining my wallet pretty quickly during a visit. Super nice views of Lady Liberty and once arriving at Staten Island, my teenage daughter and I just found a nice restaurant for dinner, had a nice meal, and took the ferry back. Super fun thing to do, highly recommend.

After returning to Staten Island being gone 20 years having to work in Manhattan is not sure I thought it would be when I have the opportunity to ride on the ferry. The staff are friendly and how far and the view is magnificent.

It’s free, works 24/7 and clean. Easy to get from Staten Island to Manhattan and from Manhattan back to Staten Island just in 30min with beautiful views around.
