Lake Shawnee

This lake is my favorite place to share with my pups. Beautiful lake surrounded by gardens and walking paths for all ages. Plenty of parking and things to do. Public restrooms are on sight. There are bridges and dam to walk over or even ride bikes. Highly recommend to visit.

Great fishing options around this beautiful lake…Blue Gill and small mouth Bass plus Channel Cats. This lake is a jewel in the midst of Topeka! We needed to extend our camping stay and they were more than helpful…even finding a discount that could be applied. Forever grateful.

This park is a beautiful place to go. The flowers and trees are amazing. There are a lot of picnic table to be enjoyed, ducks and geese, as well as many other birds. Docks to walk on or fish from. And a huge walking/ biking trail that goes completely around the lake. I think the trail is 6 miles. I love looking at the flowers, they smell so good. We have picniced in the are a few times and walked the trail. Once we were picnicking and doing homework when we saw a group of baby ducks, they were so adorable.

Beautiful area! Great trails for a good jog/run

We’re full time RV’ers and this park rates #1, and we’ve seen a ton of gorgeous parks. Beautifully maintained, excellent paved walking/biking/running trails around the entire lake. I’m guessing 10 miles +- that we enjoyed daily with our dog. There’s literally something for everyone. These pictures barely do it justice!

Great outdoor walking course and flower gardens with multiple gazebos and lakeview overlooks. A must see in spring it still maintains its appeal in the fall as it's many trees and Japanese maples change color.
