Masonboro Island Reserve

This little island is so beautiful. Uninhabited and only accessible by water, it still feels untouched by humans. The sand is white, the water is blue, and it feels like youre a million miles from home. (Bring a trash bag, to keep it that way)

Beautiful reserve. We go out here with the Wrightsville Beach Tours on their Pirate Tour and sometimes with our kayaks. It's a great area for a picnic and for seashell and sand dollar collecting. Lots of fun.

Absolutely gorgeous! It’s like having your own private island. Just be careful of the tide so you aren’t left high and dry.

Beautiful and relaxing. Well it can be relaxing if inconsiderate people don't come along and start blasting loud music. It amazes me how people act like they are in their own backyard and no one else is around and do whatever they like. Get off their jet ski or boat and let their dogs run free. And blast music. When people who have already been there minding their business are not being loud and obnoxious have choice but to leave because they will catch a charge if they beat some manners into you. But Masonboro Island itself is a beautiful place

Beautiful island that is well worth the extra effort to get to it. The extra payoff for having to take a boat is so many less people and the unique ecology.

Total nature like you're one of only a few people on the planet. No development and hardly anyone around you, like your personal private beach. Getting there can be tricky and best by kayak at high tide.

One of the few barrier islands left along the east coast that has not been touched by any development. A great place to get away from the beach crowds!
