These guys are awesome! I didn’t actually go into the store, but I wanted to buy a used lens online. I called about the condition and the guy got the lens in his hand and described the exact condition. He even gave me a helpful tip on which shipping method to use so I could get it faster. Also, the lens was at a very competitive price. They shipped it quickly and even sent me a free camera bag to go along with my new lens. Would definitely shop here again.

This is the place that started my career and love for photography! I remember when I first walked in here and I talked to Steve who educated me hilariously about the very huge differences between my cell phone and an actual camera and that it was basically a piece of scientific equipment lol. So not only did they help me fall in love with photography they also helped educate me along my entire path learning. They sell a very wide variety of camera and film equipment and accessories, and not only are they an excellent option that you can support for being a local business, but their prices are pretty much spot on exactly what you would pay anywhere else so not only are they awesome but they are also excellently priced. If you shop here you absolutely won't regret it!

Stewarts Photo quite literally saved our trip to Alaska for our honeymoon! I love shooting medium format film and my camera went kaput on me while in the middle of Denali National Park. I was incredibly bummed. We were staying in Anchorage the next day and I had hope that I would be able to find a new camera at Stewarts. We walked in and were greeted by smiles and helped very quickly by a wonderful gentleman - and it was just my luck that some medium format cameras had recently come in! As soon as he set them on the counter, I knew it was meant to be. I asked lots of questions because I wasn’t super familiar with this style of camera, and all were answered with great detail and so much patience and kindness. He helped me get it all set up, test the shutter, load the film, and got us all squared away so I could shoot for the rest of our trip! I only wish I would have gotten his name. Such a cool guy, and if we ever end up in Anchorage again I would 1000% come back to stock up on film and other supplies at Stewarts! Top notch customer service, the store is so nicely organized and centrally located downtown. Worth a stop for every photographer while you’re in town! ❤️

Very quick service with knowledge to go with it. I have an old digital camera that needed a charger and they had it in stock! To have a charger for a camera that is 15 years old is pretty cool.

Upon entering Stewart’s Camera 📷 shop (4th Avenue) in Anchorage, I was very impressed! They had a wide array of camera options, equipment and merchandise. The gentleman who helped me, was very knowledgeable and addressed all my questions re: my camera. He explained in detail, regarding my lenses, along with other helpful suggestions and information. I am more than confident, making this recommendation for you! ✨I will most assuredly be returning for future purchases from this quality establishment!!!

I was in Anchorage, at the end of a cruise, about a month ago and stumbled upon this shop. Earlier that day I had fall in which I snapped my 500mm PF lens off of my D500. Needless to say, I wasn't happy. I had time to kill so I went inside for advice. I immediately told them I wasn't buying anything but looking for guidance. They directed me to Nikon's repair site, even wrote it down for me, and told me it should be fixable. I spent about 15 minutes in the shop, and they treated me like I had purchased all of my equipment there knowing I was likely to never return. I left there at ease. Customer service is important to me, and they demonstrated that it is to them too. By the way, the lens was repaired and returned by Nikon within two weeks of sending it out and is good as new. If I'm ever in Anchorage again I know where to go for equipment or help.

They had what I needed - battery and camera case! The staff offered to help but still kind of left me alone to figure it out myself. It would have felt warmer and less like being sold items if someone showed interest in finding me options. I would love to see a bargain bin of used items!
