Excellent customer service and excellent quality photos. They rated an excellent in service after I called to complain about the quality of one photo. The owner explained that the photo pixel size wasn’t compatible with the size print I ordered. He recommended the correct size and reprinted and sent to us within a week. That’s excellent customer service, and the photos look great.
It seems to be a bustling photo business. I was there for quite a bit of time with no greeting. By the time that I was finally greeted, I was told to wait additional time since I was a few minutes early for my BCI appointment. Of course I ended up waiting a few minutes beyond my appointment time to begin, as they were engrossed in helping others and completing orders. The gentleman was clear, concise, and professional during the BCI process, but I was still left feeling like a bit of a nuisance rather than customer. Especially in comparison to the level of service I observed others receiving.
Dropping off film was a breeze, quick & easy! They offer a great selection of film, one specific brand I normally have to order online. I received my color film scans in a link the next morning, which I’m not used to! Ive had to wait at least a week at other places. The scans are beautiful and I will definitely make this my go to spot for film development! This felt like those days I used to be able to drop my film off at the CVS one hour photo counter.
I've been using McAlister for around three years to develop all sorts of 35mm film and the quality has always been great. I often receive same day digital scans/prints for reasonable prices. The file transfer service utilized has changed a few times over the past few years, but It is now more secure which is nice.
Have been going to McAlister for over a year now and the quality of the work they do is sub par. At first I enjoyed giving them my business but over time I realized more and more issues. There have been multiple times where my film was sloppily cleaned and scanned causing there to be speckles and dots on my photos, although they offered to rescan them they will charge you for their mess ups. Recently I had brought in a roll of film and paid $13 to get a roll of Kodak ULTRAMAX developed. When I got the roll back I was only given 2/3 of my photos. When I went in to ask what happened they told me the photos I took were exposed improperly (in my case over exposed). When I asked if I could just get the scans anyways they told me it would be $2 per photo. On top of that some of my photos were chopped off and improperly cropped for my digital photos. I should not have to pay an additional $2 when I already paid for the service. They also never mention the fact that they will not give you under or over exposed photos. I would not recommend bringing anything here unless it's for some insignificant project for school. I will not be bringing anything here anymore and will also be telling people to stay away from here. The employees are very nice and always helpful though which I do appreciate.
I had very good experience. Went in and someone came to assist right away. We used the computer to order and it was ready in 10-15 minutes.
We've been customers of McAlister Photoworks for many years and have always appreciated their customer service and quality prints. I recently arranged for them to create new prints of a cherished family photo, knowing it would be in good hands. It initially turned out a little darker than I'd hoped, and they reprinted it to my complete satisfaction while I waited. I know of three local professional photographers who wouldn't entrust prints of their work to anyone else in the Columbus area.
