Last Good Film Lab

definitely not the "last good film lab." there was a lack of urgency and communication whilst being there. 1) had to ask for a receipt multiple times 2) had to reach out to them to see if my film was ready (which it was - several days after their estimate - but they did not notify me) 3) when they said their emails would show up in my junk folder, they did not. and when i called and they finally sent, it was in my regular inbox. just a few things they could improve upon.

I really wanted to like this lab for their mail in and Frontier service, but unfortunately my customer experience left a lot to be desired. First, they don’t confirm when your film rolls arrive. As someone who uses film for weddings, it’s important to know when my work is safely received. I felt left in the dark until I followed up multiple times. Communication also felt difficult. I emailed over a week ago with no reply, called for three days with no answer, and finally got through to someone on Friday who asked for my name and then told me my film would arrive soon. Only today did I find out, through another follow-up email and phone call, that my scans had already been delivered five days ago but that the notification went to my spam but the person on the phone did not mention this. When I did finally get my scans today, four rolls were missing. They had been sent to the wrong email address, so I had to reach out again to get those files re-sent. All in all, for the amount of money that film processing costs, I do hope for more streamlined and reliable communication from a lab. I am used to waiting for film to arrive but the lack of communication, responsiveness, and organization made this experience more stressful than it needed to be.

Can I just say.. this is possibly the best film lab I’ve come across so far! The scans, the delivery time, the colors, the borders (my fave) .. I’m so happy! I recieved a first time discount and I believe their prices are incredibly fair compared to the other labs I’ve used. The email did get sent to me spam for the first time, but I usually check my spam daily as well, so it wasn’t a big deal to me. Can’t wait to send over some more!

Save your money and go anywhere else in San Diego. They’re merely middlemen and wait to ship your film off to Colorado to get it scanned and developed. Been waiting over a month for a single roll and their excuse is "it’s this other lab we ship it to" WHAT. Terrible communication.

I was so excited to find a film lab in the neighborhood. I dropped off four rolls of black and white film. The two women who i spoke to were very helpful. However two days later I received an email from Last Good Film Lab that they had a machine malfunction and two of my rolls were mostly "burned". They refunded my entire order (without my asking to) which is great. However I am disappointed.

The only place I bring my film! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, scans always come out great. They always have tons of film in stock too plus other camera bags, batteries, etc. Highly recommend LGFL if you’re a film photographer!

Very cool place. Learned about it from Willem Verbeeks channel. Sadly his pop up was gone when I was there but they shop people are awesome as well as the dog. And they did some fantastic scans of my 120 color and BW. No dust spots, and colors were great and well balanced. I maybe had 1 or 2 water marks it looked like on some frames. But that was out of 100 or so images. Will be back!
