Had our first ever family photo shoot with Zack tonight. I was really skeptical because we had gone 25 years without a professional photo shoot, but I am thrilled we did! Zack made everyone feel completely comfortable, he was so fun, and great to work with. Thank you for making sure we got so many options to choose from. This was a totally amazing experience and we would definitely recommend photos with Zack at Camera Shy! P.S. the price point is completely worth it. I know my family is going to love the images, and I'm really excited to get prints and Christmas cards!!! How do you put a value on time with your family and capturing that? To me this experience was priceless.

Camera shy did a great job. Zach was able to get the best out of our busy kids. It was quick and easy

I’ve taken family photos at Camera Shy in Gardner Village a few times and I feel like each time I go there their service has gone down hill and their photographers aren’t great. This most recent time, October 2025 confirmed I won’t be going back. The photographer we had was so lame. She had no personality to offer with small children, she didn’t have any direction of good poses, and she didn’t even notice all the glaring in the glasses we had on. My wife and I felt that she was very inexperienced. She didn’t edit them out, and when the pictures were previewed and noticed by us we asked if she could fix it and she said yes but that didn’t appear to be done when we received our digital gallery. On another note, they force you to purchase a photo package from them, mind you this hasn’t always been a thing. Photos were promised within a weeks time and here we are still waiting. We could’ve have received some photos at the time of purchase and others later in the week but we decided to wait for all of them at once. This was a mistake! I don’t know if their other locations are decent but I wouldn’t go back to the one in Gardner Village again and nor would I recommend them.

First time coming here and it did not disappoint. We took some newborn pictures and Jaysie was great. She was helpful with options during the shoot as well as really good with our little baby. He was fussy but we were able to still get great photos.

Camera Shy no longer applies in 2020 you could get an hour session with 60 digital photos for $199 now it costs $388+ ($199 session fee + packages "starting" at $189 for the photos). That’s a big time jump in price which the kid that been working their for 2 months said that the economy has changed "BS" . The economy has changed since Covid and you start raising your prices 100% recently. At this price, I’d choose somewhere where I know exactly who the photographer will be rather than Camera Shy where you just hope whoever takes your photos will do a good job. I gave that kid a piece of my mind when I was there when i get my prints sent to my email until I paid for a package. So NEVER again ill be going back to camera shy and I’ll tell all my family and friends about the pricing.

Two years ago we went to Camera Shy to get newborn photos done. The pictures were beautiful and the cost was very reasonable. When my second child was born we of course booked another newborn session at Camera Shy. This time we had a very negative experience. First off, after your photo session you have to come back in 1-2 hours to review your photos. If you have small children this is not at all convenient. My newborn and toddler were ready to go home, so I had to schedule another time to go back and look at the photos. I asked if they could just email me a link so I could look at the photos at home and then pick out my prints. They said that was not an option. I had to schedule a time to come back in-person. I come back into the studio and then need to pick out my prints on the spot. I have a photo mural on my wall at home. It was not convenient to have to pick prints while sitting in a corner of the studio with the photographer looking over my shoulder and customers coming and going. It would have been much nicer to review them in my own home so I could have taken the time to see what photos and sizes I needed to fit my wall. Once you have ordered your prints you then have to COME BACK AGAIN to pick them up. That makes three trips to Camera Shy, which is an unneeded hassle when you have just had a baby. Camera Shy also raised their prices and you now pay a studio session fee that does not include any digital photos or prints. You have to pay a separate fee for your photos. I only wanted the digital images, but that is not an option. The prints I received were not any better quality than what I could have ordered at a neighborhood print shop for a fraction of the price. I also had an issue with one of my prints so I will have to go back to the studio yet again. Overall, I would not recommend Camera Shy, especially to families with young children. It was too inconvenient to keep coming back, you cannot buy the digitals by themselves, and the prints are over priced.

My family and I have been loyal customers of Camera Shy for approximately seven years, and we have always valued the quality of our sessions. The recent change in pricing structure and service delivery, however, is a significant deterrent that will likely result in the loss of long-standing clients, including us. We are accustomed to paying roughly $150–$200 for a session, plus a tip. The new policy mandates purchasing a separate print package, with starting prices around $189, to gain access to digital files. This effectively doubles the expected cost for returning customers. While the website does state that "Session fees do not include digital access or prints," long-term clients booking via established habits may easily overlook this change. A fellow multi-year customer expressed the same surprise during our visit. The manner in which this customer's valid concerns were dismissed and minimized by staff was disheartening and reflects a concerning trend noted in recent generic responses online. I ultimately paid the additional $200+ (plus tax) for digital downloads and eight 8x10 prints. The forced bundling of numerous physical prints—which are easily obtained for a fraction of the price at third-party print shops—feels wasteful when only one or two prints are needed. This new model feels exploitative of loyal patrons. We will be seeking photography services elsewhere moving forward.
