Stayed the night before heading to the airport. Check in was easy and efficient. The person manning the counter was very friendly and knowledgeable. The room and the surroundings were clean and well maintained. Room is functional and pretty basic. Storage is rather limited as there is no closet. The beds were comfortable but quite high, which could be a challenge for someone with assesibility issue. There is a working elevator, making it easy for those with luggage or assesibility issues. The room did not come with a coffee maker and there is no coffee in the lobby unlike other locations. If you are looking for a basic and clean room at a reasonable rate, this would be a good choice.
Overall for the money it's not a bad Motel. Location is pretty good as you are right next to the convention center, 5 minutes to Sea World, 10 minutes to Universal Studios and 20 minutes to Disney. Plenty of places to eat all around. There is a Publix grocery store 2 minutes away. Room was pretty clean and plenty of towels for my needs. Bring your own bodywash, soap, shampoo/conditioner as they give you a tiny bar of soap and another tiny bottle of shampoo/condition. The only "ISSUE" I had was at Check in. My flight didn't land until 11 pm and by the time I got my rental car and got to the hotel it was Midnight. Lobby is only open 7 am - 11 pm They do have an after hours clerk who wasn't here. There was a sign on the door that said the check in clerk would return in five minutes. after 20 minutes I tried to call and you could just hear the phone ringing in the lobby and of course no one answered. after 30 minutes I called the Days Inn 800 number and they put me on hold to "Call the hotel" which while on hold the phone in the lobby is just ringing non-stop... FINALLY after about 40 minutes someone showed up and got me checked in close to 1 am. Clerk was friendly and mildly apologetic.
Look, this is a Days Inn, ok. I was teased relentlessly from my colleagues for staying here for a conference at OCCC instead of our usual Marriott or Hilton. Iwas told i would get bed bugs or that my room would be dirty; no bed bugs were encountered but I'll describe the cleanliness below. For me the convenience of walking to my room from the conference center as opposed to a 20 minute drive to other hotels with vacancies in the area is what mattered more than amenities. This hotel is convenient, has some useful shops and restaurants within walking distance (Walgreens, 7 Eleven, McDonalds, IHOP); The grounds were well kept; the staff (Jeanette and Isabella) were nice and helpful. The only improvements I could suggest are that the rooms were a bit run down, appeared to use cheap materials, looked to have had some shoddy repairs done and could have been a bit cleaner - the floors could be grimy and the bathroom still had hair hiding in corners and on the lavatory. The beds were comfortable and smelled clean. The showers were nice and hot. Bring your own soap and shampoo because those provided are lacking. I've definitely been to worse Marriott hotels. I think if you plan on being on the go and just need a place to sleep and shower, this place could work for you but i don't think it's for everyone. Weigh your priorities and prepare for its shortcomings.
I booked this hotel for it's location to the convention center. It's a very convenient walk over if you have something on the south side or the building is fully open so you can walk though. We were on the north this time and it's a much longer walk around the building then the walk is to the convention center. The rooms were ok. Basic. Clean. The shower, I like roasty red temp but it only got to high warm each time which was a bummer. The pool is pretty, big and deep. I totally swam in it despite it not being a heated pool. Water temp was probably 70 during my January trip. Not the relaxing swim I was planning on but not unbearable cold. I'll stay here again for the location and I know there's an attached IHOP but the one thing that makes this hotel not excellent is the lack of any free food for breakfast and if you don't get up early on the weekends, that IHOP gets packed and has a long wait. There is a McDonald's, Denny's and Walgreens right across the road as options for food/stuff. The Weekend that are walking distance, 4 Walgreens oddly all do not have pharmacies so if you need medications, hopefully you don't, you may have to Uber someplace. Even Publix that I thought was in a more residential area, didn't have a pharmacy in it, weird. The check in staff was nice and check out. I wanted to go down and ask other questions and make requests, like they only would give us two towels each time despite my reservation for 4 of us in the room. But I didn't take the time to ask for more so I can't rate the customer service on that. I was surprised and impressed that room service actually comes every day. I thought that ended with covid and in every other hotel I've been in, they only come if you request them. Overall, good stay, great price for the area.
**Great location and friendly staff** This hotel was the only affordable choice for my first time staying in this area! (International Traveller) location is perfect for the Orange County Convention Center — an easy and very convenient walking distance, especially if you’re out and about all day. Hotel is motel style, entrance to room directly outside, I had a high floor with pool view, nice. I felt safe and was happy. The staff were amazing: helpful, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. There are plenty of convenience options nearby, with Walgreens, IHOP, and McDonald’s right across the road. The Rosen Centre is also only about a 5-minute walk away, which was really handy. Overall, a great stay and an excellent location for anyone visiting the convention center or needing easy access to nearby amenities. I’ll definitely be back . Thanks Virginia, Isabella and the late night front desk guy.
This hotel was... meh. Great location if you're willing to slum it. The entire building was damp feeling. It wasn't even raining but the room felt like a clammy handshake. Just damp and musty. Could be the grimy air conditioner causing the problem. The bedding looked clean, no bed bugs, but the dampness made sleeping really comfortable. The toilet screamed for a full minute any time you flushed it. It was clean-ish, but hadn't had a deep clean in quite some time. Gunk in the corners, the shower drain ran slow. Overall, long overdue for a good makeover and deep clean.
I really wanted to give this hotel a 10/10 because everything seemed great at first: clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. Unfortunately, my experience changed completely after the first morning of my stay. The housekeeping noise is extremely disruptive. You can hear the cart rolling from far away, and it continues throughout the day as they pass back and forth in the hallway. To make matters worse, the vacuuming starts early in the morning and is unbelievably loud, loud enough to wake you up even if they’re not cleaning your room. I value my sleep, and this was just unacceptable for a hotel experience. Another thing that could easily be improved is the housekeepers leaving room doors wide open while cleaning. It creates even more noise and disturbance for guests trying to rest. On the positive side, the front desk staff was very kind and helpful, and the IHOP next door is a nice convenience, open 24/7 and perfect for grabbing a meal anytime. Unfortunately, the constant noise from housekeeping completely ruined the relaxing experience I was hoping for. Until they fix that, I won’t be staying here again.
