Customer Reviews
Flatlands Bourbon and Bayou has a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on over 1968 reviews on Google
We had a great experience & the food was really good! The gumbo, beignets & broiled oysters were excellent! The jambalaya & creole pasta were also pretty good but not amazing like the other items. Next time we’d skip the crawfish dip but had a wonderful experience.
Me and my friend came here on a whim, and we were not disappointed. I ordered the seafood risotto, and she got the catfish ponchartrain. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was live, but not overwhelming. The service was great too. I would definitely come here again.
My boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town & wanted some catfish. As I was doing my google restaurant search, I came across this place. The reviews are 100% accurate. It is super cozy & homelike upon arriving. I like how small it is as it makes it a more intimate setting. There was parking right by the door as well. There were so many options on the menu, that I didn’t even know what to pick. All sounded so good. I got the crawfish mac & cheese and it was perfectly creamy, cheesy , and delicious. As far as my meal, I got the blackened catfish, shrimp, and sweet potato risotto. The seafood was grilled to perfection along with their sauces making it more flavorful. I also love how it is freshly cooked to order. For the season & dessert, I got the pumpkin stuffed beignets. Sweet but not overly sweet and the whip cream made it better. I can’t wait to come back as the service was great. And the staff was friendly.
Delicious! We came here for date night to try something a little different. We’ll be coming back! I got the mountain trout and risotto and it was phenomenal. My boyfriend got the salmon and loved it. Wish I had had room for beignets or alligator bites- definitely next time.
Hard to decide what to eat. It all sounded so good and as we looked at other plates we wanted to try theirs too. Add the gumbo to whatever you choose and you will leave happy. The best Cajun meal I have ever had outside of Louisiana.
Parking was super convenient, with plenty of spaces available on both sides of the restaurant. The seating options were great—cozy indoors and a really nice outdoor area if you prefer dining outside. We ordered the alligator bites appetizer plus Jambalaya, pork ribeye steak, fried basket, and the burger—and every single dish was absolutely delicious! Each plate was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. It’s rare to have four different dishes all be this good, but they nailed it. Our server was incredibly nice and sweet, which made the whole experience even better. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. We’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend!
We just had a delightful Sunday afternoon meal at Flatlands. Husband had the jambalaya, kiddo had shrimp & grits, and I had the blackened fish tacos. Everything was delicious! Anna was our server; she is wonderful! Husband mentioned how much the atmosphere reminded him of a recent visit trip to NOLA he took with our adult sons. Very pleasant & welcoming. Husband and I shared an old-fashioned cocktail — it was perfect! Kudos to the bartender! For dessert, we had the eruption cake (chocolate cheese cake?), which was amazing! We brought home strawberry stuffed beignets that we thought would be good for breakfast — but, alas, the beignets did not make it until breakfast, haha. So very yummy! Highly recommend!
