Shotgun Players at the Ashby Stage

Saw Sondheim’s "Sunday in the Park with George". I’ve been listening to this mesmerizing Broadway cast album for 42 years, There was some part of me that didn’t think the live play experience could live up to the album—even on Broadway. I need not have worried. The Shotgun Players performance was outstanding in every way: the WHOLE cast- and especially Dot and George- the musicians, the choice of instruments, and the evident care and thought behind every detail. Sitting in the first row of such an intimate theater made the experience feel especially close and alive. A true gem—one I hope as many people get to savor as my sister and I did. One of my best Christmas gifts from my sister!

The theater is set up so wonderfully, the staff was amazing and the show was exceptional! Will definitely be back for another show ❤️

Love this theatre. Saw a production of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. Remarkable how they translated this once huge Broadway show to a more intimate setting.
