The Cantab Lounge

The Cantab Lounge is an absolute gem. Whether you’re coming for the live music, the atmosphere, or just a great place to unwind, it consistently delivers. The space has that perfect blend of historic character and laid-back energy that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. Huge shoutout to the GM, Kylie, who clearly takes pride in how the place is run. You can feel the attention to detail in the service, the vibe, and how welcoming the whole team is. It’s rare to find a spot that feels this authentic while still being so well managed. If you’re looking for a true Cambridge institution with great people behind it, this is the place.

Was out late night on a cold Sunday lookin for a joint that had a lively band tearing the house down.....walked in & was nahtttt disappointed. Great bartender, cold beers, one helluva crowd (not many ppl that night but the energy was there!) And the band was ripping it up. What more could you ask for.

The Cantab lounge is a versatile venue and always is welcoming. I’ve gone here for several events ranging from paint night, to karaoke to a causal drink after work. If you want to go somewhere consistent with great drinks and even better people, the Cantab Lounge is the place.

Excellent bar and the best music in Cambridge. They play 7 nights a week, so any day is a good day to come! They also have jam nights, poetry, drag shows, comedy and more. Checkout their website and shows on Tunehatch!!!

Word of advice: stick with 730 tavern! Pros: live music, cheap beers, access to a water cooler Cons: only 2 dirty/smelly bathrooms & as we were walking out the door we could hear the bouncer yell "yeah get out of here" 1. We sat at the bar from 10-11pm after getting dinner at 730 tavern (which btw has friendlier service, bigger/more tvs, and cleaner/bigger bathrooms) and were having beers, talking, taking pictures of each other, minding our business 2. It’s funny that the bouncer chose to yell something when we were already stepping outside (what a wimp) and also no one ever told us they wanted us to leave or that we were doing anything bothersome so it was not only very unprofessional it was unnecessary. This was my third time being here but just after that encounter I won’t be going back… Bouncers & their entitlement Looking at past reviews it’s clear that staff here are unhappy, I hope you guys feel better!

Went to the basement for a music performance, but they have an extremely loud fan that absolutely ruined the fidelity of the music. I could hear half the concert. I tried to turn it off but the staff wouldn't let me. 1/10 do NOT recommend for live music 👎👎👎

Small bar that plays live music. Drinks are good and priced right. sound system was excellent. Bathrooms are newer and were clean at the beginning of the night. We would go back again.
