Maverick Theater

The Maverick Theater is a magical little place. We have a big group that goes to Santa Conquers the Martians. It's FABULOUSLY done every year. It's an intimate space. There are bathrooms inside and they sell beer and some and snacks. It's a pretty perfect date night! *Parking is street only, don't pull into their lot; it's hard to get out of.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians never ceases to disappoint. What really makes this show is the recurring cast members that come back each year to make us laugh and exhibit their improvisational skills. Everyone is amazing and gracious in spite of doing this over and over and I'm certain no two shows are the same. I would only change one thing and that is that the theater request all guests to have a slight bit of theater etiquette. I understand this is an audience friendly show with interactions between cast and audience, some of these families do not prepare their children for how to behave nor correct inappropriate behavior during the performance. At last night's show a young boy hit "Billy" so hard with the stuffed rabbit that his glasses flew into my lap 5 feet away. We noticed "Billy" had a band aid on the rest of the show. Whether that was a joke or real, the boy should have been reined in by his parents long before because he was also talking or shouting out through the performance. The cast handled it with ultimate professionalism and rolled with the "punches" as it were. This truly shows how amazing they all are and why The Maverick is a great place to see a show. Now if they would just do Clue on stage again 😉

This theater rocks. It is small, personal and way fun. If you are into a rocking good time and like intimate setting, this is the place. The plays are delightful, but you need to have a good sense of humor. Love this place

Small but mighty theater. The cast and crew know how to use their space to maximize enjoyment for all. We came to see King Kong here and had a delightful time. They allowed the audience to see some of their special effect pieces after. The play was fun and there was a giant hand you gotta see live! I've recommended this place to several friends now and will definitely come back. I've only been here once before, but it was for an interactive Night of the Living Dead experience during COVID times.... I did that experience twice!!!!

Went to this playhouse for the first time. Saw Fellowship, and it was fantastic. It was funny, and the cast was amazing and very talented. The owner is friendly along with everyone who works there. When I'm in town again, I'll be sure to go there again!

Great place to see live theater in Orange County! There are two stages and ample drinks and snacks for sale. Fun and friendly!

Quintessential for OC theatre goers. Productions here are unique and truly capture the essence of what theatre is and can be. There are a few productions they do every year that are worth going year after year because Brian (owner, director, etc.) always brings something magical and definitely entertaining to them each time. If you love theatre or love cult classic movies turned productions then the Maverick Theater and Staged Cinema is exactly what you need. If you see a show here you'll for sure have a great time.
