I went to Louisville for the first time last weekend 6/21/14. I was told The Connections was "THE" place to go if wanting to go to a gay bar, see a drag show, dance, etc. The place is HUGE. It is in a good part of downtown. No parking lot so you have to pay to park or find a place on the street - good luck! But the club/bar is definitely showing its age - the carpet was warped everywhere and sticky. Several chairs in the show bar were broken and the tables were dirty. The whole place felt dirty. The old troll at the ticket counter was rude and unprofessional - even made a sexual gesture towards my partner. As for the "drag show," it was a disaster!!! I have seen a lot of drag shows in my travels to New Orleans, Denver, Philly, Tampa, Pensacola, Little Rock, Dallas and this was by far the worst drag I have ever seen. Scary, low-budget, and low-class. The "shower" bar consisted of 2 guys walking around in thongs who would take turns in a glass enclosed single shower in one of the bar areas. They would also follow guys into the bathrooms. We watched for about 10 mins and one of the guys made $3.00. Go figure! We arrived about 10:45 and endured it until almost midnight. It was PRIDE weekend so we were expecting a big crowd and maybe something PRIDE-related. Didn't happen. It was a waste of time and $5.00. We would have had more fun watching TV at the hotel. Not recommended.

I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I just wanted a relaxed time and to take in a good show. This place did just that. The door lady was very friendly and so was Micah, the bartender. I absolutely adored the ladies of the night and the MC was especially entertaining. The drinks were well made and reasonably priced. I will return soon! My only tiff is the uneven floor plan. Ladies (and gentlemen) in heels be warned 😉 Love love love love!

Love this bar! Bartenders and friendly and knowledgeable about different drinks... Drag show was on point and amazing!!! Coolest dance floor in louisville! Do your self the favor and check them out on a Saturday night

Good gay club depending upon your taste of entertainment and crowd . A lot of gay men verses lesbians . A lot of gay men with there straight female friends . A lot of straight women who go there for birthday or Bachelorette parties . Basically if you are a lesbian , this isn't the social place for you lol. The shows however are always amazing , but after going there once I'm not ready to go back for another year because I get tired of looking at the same drags over and over . They still once again do a great job I just like change . Drinks are served pretty quick..kinna over priced though .

Drinks are a tad too pricey, but you don't really stay for the drinks. Or the dancing, for that matter, because the music selection leaves much to be desired. Let's be serious now... you stay for the drag shows. They are too incredible, you just have to go to one and you'll be hooked. And Vanessa Delmar (the Vyxin)... lordy me, she is just smokin hot. Do yourself a favor some Friday night and catch one or both of the drag shows. It may just knock your socks right off.

Horrible place. The drink prices are extrememly high considering there is a cover charge to get in. The first drag queen after the bad opening act flipped me off. She/he was so bad I couldn't applaude so I guess I was trash to her. To her dismay, I love drag and would have tipped even though she was bad and needed to eat something to cover up her bones a little if she hadn't flipped me off.

I went strictly for the music. I am not gay, but I'm not a phobe either. I have been to a few gay bars in my time, but as far as that goes, I couldn't say if it was good or not. I went to hear some beats. They tout themselves as having awesome music (electronic, mainly breakbeat), and I arrived around 10:30. Had to wait for the drag show to end before the DJ came on in the dance room. At around 11:30 the DJ came in, about 60+ years old, had a laptop, was just pushing buttons to beat match some old house songs. egh. The lights were plentiful, the floor was illuminated, but it was like they were all set on auto. For a Saturday night, prime time, what I would consider should be their best night, I stayed about 15 minutes more to see if it would get better, and it didn't. I come from Orlando, and I am at least used to a DJ doing live mixing, and someone controlling the lights. It looked as if the room was setup for that, but instead they had grampa up there pushing beat match on his Dell. What a joke, if any other club started to have a real club/music night in Louisville, they would do VERY WELL, seeing this bar was the only thing that showed up when looking for a club online. Oh Well, just stopping through, not staying...
