Customer Reviews
The Box has a rating of 3.6 out of 5 based on over 730 reviews on Google
This nightclub has two levels. The outside area feels like a bar, while the inside is where the live performances happen. Drinks are definitely on the expensive side. Inside, there’s everything — a full stage, a show space, and all kinds of unusual performers. They invite some truly eccentric acts, which makes the experience… interesting, to say the least. If you’re coming for the show, do NOT sit in the front row. Trust me. Whoever sits there is in for a surprise — and not always a pleasant one. Also, try to arrive early. If you show up too late, they simply won’t let you in. And the crowd? Let’s just say it’s a very unique mix of people.no pictures allowed
Came here to see Exposed a show by nyc mentalist Jason Suran and was completely blow away! It was so fun to experience The Box for an early night show. A true theater! I hope they do more weeknight shows. 😍🤩
After reading the reviews I was worried about coming here but I also heard that The Box is iconic and a place everyone should go at least one time so Im glad I did. Luckily the event was sponsored so I didn’t have to pay for drinks nor did I wait outside in the long line outside neither so I avoided the common complaints here. The bartenders were cool. It was loud so I had to yell for them to hear but everything was ok. Inside was cool, different, and had a nice vibe. I could see why ppl enjoy this place, it did feel exclusive. I would definitely come back here and I would tell others to at least visit once. Im not mad at this place.
Just a horrible entrance guy. Said not tonight without saying even Hello. But for some reason 17-18 year old girls with fake ids were getting in, without even being asked if they had a table or reservation. And also the girls looked like American teenagers or high schoolers. This place definitely NOT ELITE! How would a high schooler can actually afford a table at a place like this. I’ve been here before. But they are becoming more rude every time. Definitely destroyed our mood for the night.
We had a wonderful school reunion here. The service was great! Delicious appetizers were brought out and served by a professional staff. The bartender was attentive and fast-- no waiting. Tables were setup so we were able to move around. Enjoy a joyful function in comfortable temperatures year round. Roomy and the selected music provided a great soundtrack that we all loved hearing through crystal clear speakers. Everything there made a happy time even better.
Unfortunately I have the words experience with this place , starting with the security guard , one on specific the toll big African American one was homophobic the moment my friend who is gay give him he’s identification he refuse to let us get in very disrespectful, I ask why he said I don’t have to tell why you guys can go in very disappointing, while this happened I saw them taking a female out of the street line she was someone insignificant, please DO NOT TRY TO PLACE A FOOT INTO THIS DISGUSTING PLACE .
Very disappointing and outdated door selection. It felt like the old days when people were chosen based on looks or gender. This kind of selective behavior is outdated and unacceptable. The staff at the door were extremely rude. I won’t be coming back—they completely missed the welcoming, inclusive "bear" vibe their club is supposed to represent. They only let in people they already knew or those who supposedly spent a lot of money on a table (which I seriously doubt). Something about the whole experience felt off. The door staff were very young and seemed to be part of the LGBTQ+ community, yet they were unkind and dismissive—even toward others in the community. The energy was just wrong, and I heard similar complaints from other people outside. As an artist myself, it was sad and disappointing to be treated this way by people who should know better. No thanks.
