The Maridor

I had lunch here with a group of 60+. The staff was excellent - friendly, competent. The interior is beautiful and perfect for a group gathering. The exterior is getting a little sad, though - a hole in the front screen door, peeling paint. It's still a very nice place.

A grand old mansion located a few minutes walk from Grandin Village center.|The rooms are upstairs and consist of 4 suites. We stayed in the Bridal Suite which was very large with a king size bed and a separate sitting area. The bed is high but there is a step stool. |Very well furnished with comfortable seating. |Bathroom fixtures are older but large and fully functional except for the bathtub which only has cold water connection .|No central air conditioning but the portable AC although slightly noisy worked well. |Overall highly recommended.|There is also a restaurant on the main level . Will review restaurant separately

One of the BEST spots for drinks and bites in the Grandin area. The pours are heavy and the Asian inspired dishes are incredible, I can’t recommend the nan-chos enough. I got the daily bento box and the plain crème brûlée was phenomenal! The outside seating is perfect during the warm spring and summer nights.

I visited my friend who lives up the street and she mentioned having been to the Maridor before and she suggested we have dinner and drinks there. So we did! We enjoyed items from the omakase menu and were not disappointed. We also shared some crab rangoons and the maple bacon flatbread and all the food wad delicious. The house itself is just a beautiful setting. We decided to have dinner on the back patio and it was a great space. I would highly recommend this hidden gem of a space to anyone who enjoys an intimate setting and great food.

Exceptional food from an inspired, creative menu worthy of an address in NYC or other culinary mecca. Friendly and knowledgeable service in the warm, romantic setting of a historic mansion/ B&B. A friend and I ate at the bar a few nights ago and we are still dreaming/talking about the food (will be back soon!). We also appreciated that the prices were so reasonable, without skimping on freshness or quality of ingredients. Easily one of the best meals I've had in Roanoke.

We went last night and it was wonderful. Seth is great and made sure we had a good evening. They were busier then planned so he called before our reservation to let us know they were out of items but he helped us find great items to try. This is a place we will definitely go back to again and again. The best service I've seen in a very long time 😀😀 thank you Seth

Reviewing for the restaurant. The Maridor is a game-changer for the Grandin neighborhood. It offers one of the most pleasant dining spaces in Roanoke. The inside is beautiful, while the patio and lawn are inviting and lovely. The food is simply phenomenal. The steam baked oysters were a revelation to me, a wonderful alternative to the typical raw serving (they have those too). The BBQ shrimp is excellent and you'll want to get more bread to soak up the spicy, delicious sauce. The Garlic Noodles (with beef), were balanced and really great. Service is solid and you can expect the chef to come check on you. They are very welcoming to children, as we've brought our toddler multiple times now. The rear lawn offers a nice, mostly enclosed place for kids to run and play, while the parents can relax on the patio within eye shot of the entire lawn. Cocktails are delicious and reasonably priced ($8-12 range if I recall) compared to similar establishments. You might be looking for an alternative since another local, root-oriented Grandin restaurant has seen significant decline recently. The Maridor is your answer!
