So cold. I went on a Tuesday night and I was freezing. Not sure if they don't have a heater or don't run it or were, but it doesn't do anything? Basic bar. Decent atmosphere. I like all the art they have up and the chairs were pretty comfortable. Decent vibe. I'd be interested to see how it was on a weekend with dancing and more people. Drinks were on the smaller side (lots of ice) but pricey.
Good vibes, feels cozy and safe... except when it gets busy and the dancing starts. The weird gawker straight men come crawling out of the sewers to leer at dykes and covertly touch their pants. Wish they were big enough to have pool tables somewhere. Also the dance playlists could include like, any lesbian artists. At all.
I really wish the weekend bouncer would stop making comments to the community (e.g. gay males) It's disheartening that you are reminded this isn't a "gay" bar and don't feel welcome. They have an all gender restroom and it sucks to feel like the community (myself) and many of my friends want to support Wild Rose and you are reprimanded for being an ally. The very history of inclusion and acceptance should be respected for all identities. This is the third or fourth experience I've had with the same bouncer and it really sucks to not feel included in a community that is suppose to be a safe place for people like me.
We had a lesbian bar for years here and it closed in 2024, so when I travel I look for what has become a unicorn since the pandemic. The Wildrose didn't disappoint. Spacious and funky with a mellow vibe. Friendly security and felt safe. Now there is Joe!!!! Best bartender ever. Efficient, kind, smart and great to talk to. I would go back to Seattle to hang out with him. And, I am hoping that either of these two books are correct: "Pig-Tail Days in Old Seattle" or "Soiled Doves: Prostitution in the Old West?" If not, I have access to all libraries and sources too through work, so feel free to lmk.
We came 3 times before and it was fine but then…. A girl got upset because I shared some stupid dance tips and they treated us like shit. It’s supposed to be a safe space and that includes a bisexual woman with her husband just having a good time. Not cool. Won’t go back!
Unfortunately a lot of straight men taking up space here recently. Cover is cash only, $5. Music is very hit or miss but the door staff is great. Very dive bar ish, could probably pull in some better DJs because we often hear the exact same set.
Great queer bar with fun events, great energy, and amazing people. The bartenders are always friendly when it’s a quiet Monday or a busy Saturday night. I love the diversity of events there, you can find something for everyone.
