El Pais Motel & Campgrounds

I first discovered El Pais in 2022 and stay here every time I’m in Tucson. This mother-daughter run spot truly treats guests like family. Prices are fair for car camping, vintage campers, and everything a van lifer or traveler could need. Whether you bring your own rig or rent a room, you get access to the community space, laundry, fresh eggs, coffee, games, and movies. Sometimes I am social, but also am able to get done work and enjoy downtime when needed. If you love art, vintage vibes, supporting local businesses, and finding hidden gems, Toni & Jade's place is for you.

El Pais Motel and Campground is AMAZING! The retro mid-century mod vibe is prevalent throughout the property. Access to a clubhouse complete with washer and dryer, two full bathrooms and a fantastic lounge area make your stay very comfortable. Full electric, water and sewage hook-ups for our trailer are super convenient. MOST importantly are the people who run El Pais and keep clean and safe, Toni, Jade and Karl - THANK YOU! We'll 100% be back here.

We stumbled upon this gem while looking for a place to park our camper van. We immediately fell in love with the place. The retro ambiance is so fun, there is so much love for detail around every corner. The common space was great for hanging out and we really felt at home- so we spontaneously decided to stay 3 nights! The staff was so friendly and helpful (Thanks Carl and Fee!!!) and the common space was very clean (especially the groovy all-pink bathroom!). We also felt very safe. We couldn't have asked for a better place. Highly recommend!

We just had the nicest one night stay in our 3 yrs of owning an RV. (And most reasonable price, bring 2 twenties) Tight space, but don’t sit in your Rig, go mingle. We spent the evening sitting by the pool, watching a movie on a big screen with the lovely smell of wood smoke from the fire pit going on the cozy patio behind us. Free popcorn was available. And just as described in other reviews the next morning, free coffee was hot and wonderful with several creamers to choose from. Didn’t have time to really enjoy all the mid century decor in the "club house", but we definitely need to visit again! Thank you for a Fun stay!

El Pais is the most magical place I’ve ever stayed, we loved it so much we actually extended our vacation just to spend one more night here, and we already can’t wait to come back. It was more than renting a room, we felt like a wanted guest in someone’s home, because we were. The staff is so welcoming and they go above and beyond in every way you could possibly imagine. They put on movies every night but I especially suggest visiting on a Friday or Saturday, that’s when the food truck is open and there may even be themed snacks/drinks to go along with whatever movie is showing! The weekends are definitely a good time but on any day here you will find a unique community where you immediately become family. Every night we would sit on the patio hoping another guest would walk by and join us and often they did! It’s easy making friends here. I would also mention how ridiculously cute the entire property is but there aren’t words that can truly describe it.

If youre ever needing a *home* to park and sleep at in Tucson, this is it. 100%. I feel like Im camping in my moms back yard, and shes guna bring out smores and hot cocoa any second. If you knew my mom, youd know the real weight of that compliment. They are kind, friendly, reasonably priced, but the best part about it is, I pulled into that drive and my mood instantly changed for the better. Its a little pocket of happy acceptance on a trip that had my nerves so frazzled I could barely think. This will be the only place I stay in Tucson, if/when the need arises.

How can I begin to describe the amazing vibes of this place? They offer full hookups and campsites as well as unique rooms. The clubhouse has an indoor and outdoor kitchen, bathrooms and showers, and anything you could possibly need for your stay. The pool is clean, with timeless music playing to really pull it all together. Between the colorful art, the vintage theme, and funky (in a good way) furniture, I absolutely love this place. Staff was awesome, coffee was perfect, and I will recommend this place to anyone passing through the Tucson area.
