Anchovies

If you're looking for a quintessential Boston neighborhood gem, Anchovies in the South End is it. I had an incredible experience recently that I just had to share. ​I ordered the linguine and clams, and it was absolutely delicious. What really made the night was the service. The bartender was a total powerhouse. I was so impressed watching her work the entire bar by herself; she managed the drinks, the floor, and the atmosphere so flawlessly without ever missing a beat. ​It’s rare to see that kind of efficiency and grace under pressure. Great food, even better vibes, and top-tier service. I’ll definitely be back!

10 stars! Place is kind of narrow and gets popping for good reason. Everything we ate was delicious. Huge portions, too! Wish I had taken more pictures of the food. Next time.

A hole in the wall. Been living in whole life in Boston and my first time here. My friends brought me here as this was the place they had their first date back in the 90's. Food was amazing. I would love to go again.

The staff does not adhere to their closing times, and doesn’t know their closing times. I understand restaurants stop service prior to closing, but when asked (for future attempts at access) when they stop allowing new patrons, door staff did not have answers. Door guy is incredibly rude and disrespectful. If you are going to let someone sit at a table and wait for their date, you don't refuse to let the date in "because you're at capacity" but yet let a couple in shortly after rejecting two other people for no reason. No one came out for someone to go in. And putting your hand in my face was a great way to lose a tip for your staff. Food is tasteless and bland. Service is catered to college kids and 20 somethings. Staff are oblivious. Don't waste your time or money on this dump.

Had a late night snack: the braddock. One of the best chicken cutlet sandwiches I've ever had. Staff was pleasant too! Martini glasses are free-pour and very generous.

After 15 hours on a train and getting in late to our hotel, we were looking for a place to get some food and drink, when we came across Anchovies. What a cool place when we walked in it was busy but the server and bartender booted us right away and got a seated. They were extremely helpful and explained some items to us and we had a fantastic dinner! The drinks were absolutely phenomenal, and they were stiff!!! No small half pours here! Wow!!!! We are definitely glad we found this place and we will probably eat here again on this trip. I can’t say enough about the environment and the food and the drinks and our server Peter was as good as they come! Would definitely recommend!!!!
