SILO

📍 Gay bars in Brooklyn

7.1

SILO in Brooklyn stands out as a well-organized gay nightlife venue, blending a relaxed atmosphere with an engaging dance experience. The spacious layout—featuring a front bar area, a central dance floor, and an outdoor smoking zone—ensures comfort and accessibility, even on busier nights. The music selection leans toward electronic and house, often enhanced by live performances, while the staff’s friendliness contributes to a welcoming vibe.

With competent crowd management and thoughtful amenities like earplugs and free water, SILO balances entertainment and practicality. While drink pricing reflects typical club standards, the venue’s strong acoustics and energetic lineup make it a standout choice. Early arrivals are advised, as capacity can lead to warmth later in the evening, but the overall experience remains polished and enjoyable.

Varunski’s Take

Stress free Entrance for those who have decency to not come with t-shirts less than 20 bucks. Music is 8.75/10. Not impossible to maneuver your way to the front. Cocktails:6.5/10. It's underrated overall. It's anectodal but my time there was met with warmth unpretentious crowds. instances of Woke Women who enter venues for the sole purpose of assuming any one with a male gaze is a predator were limited. 4.75/5.

Such a vibe with 3 spaces. The front has the bar bathrooms and some seats. The next room is the dance floor with a lot of seats on the sides. And go through the back door for access to a small outdoor area to smoke or just catch your breath. The music was cool and the DJ's did their thing. It was a nice mix of electronic music and house. They even had a dancer performing on the stage. When they weren't spinning in the air people decided to dance on the stage. I was able to buy some ear plugs and dance the night a way. It looked packed but there was a good amount of seating available to rest. The serve food but at that time they were finished. They have water easy to access and the drinks looked good, just a Lil over priced. Overall enjoyed myself!

Jam packed on a Friday night. We paid $40/person ticket to get in. It was a good time, drinks seemed watered down for the price being charged but thats to be expected for clubs. My friends and I had a good time, the music was good. Bathrooms was shared, so you could hear a guy talking in the stall next to you.

The person working on checking tickets was incredibly rude. He was aggravated that our tickets were not working. When in my group someone clarified that the tickets were real, we were threatened to leave because they didn't like the tone of voice. Even though there was a no tone voice, we were neutral. Felt unsafe and completely uncalled for for the reaction given. We understand the crew is pressured to keep the line moving, but providing a safe environment should be upmost importance to the staff.

Absolutely one of the tightest clubs; EVER. Would recommend going in by 11 — crowd picks up fast by 11:30pm. Otherwise perfect acoustics. They need to work on their ventilation at max-capacity though. Outside is cold but inside gets *warm* at ~1:30am. Otherwise bonkers good lights and lineup. 10/10 despite the air conditioning.

One of if not the best venues in the city. Only complaints are to check your expectations on a completey sold out night as it can get packed. On a normal Saturday for a show that isn't sold out though. 1000/10. Free water and ability to buy earplugs are also greatly apperciated!
