Great bites, great drinks. Something Mez: nice smoky flavor; not too sweet. Highly recommend. Satay chicken: delicious, perfectly cooked, and a sauce to die for. Korean short rib: again, perfectly cooked. Not too sweet; Excellent sauce and sides. Larb lettuce wraps: server insisted that it was pronounced lar-b. (Spoiler alert: it's more like lob). Perfectly spiced and hit the spot.

We made a reservation at Same Same for a party of seven and were expecting a full menu, but the options were more limited than we anticipated. We ordered the Penang curry, steak, bánh mì, and beef lettuce wraps. Everything was fantastic except for the curry. It was a bit different from what we’re used to, very lime-forward, though it still tasted good. Our favorite by far was the bánh mì. The ambiance was cool and eclectic, with lots of interesting photos and artwork throughout the space. I especially loved the large sign you’ll see in the photo below. Service was good overall. The drinks leaned on the sweeter side, especially the Old Fashioned and Manhattan. Overall, I’d recommend this spot. Just be prepared for a smaller menu than expected.

I wanted to reach out and share what a wonderful experience I had visiting your establishment recently. Coming across your place was a pleasant surprise; the atmosphere is incredible and truly made me feel as though I had been transported to Japan. The food was exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the hot potatoes, cucumber salad, Banh mi, and the wings, all of which had fantastic flavors. If I lived closer, I would certainly be a frequent visitor. Thank you for the great service and memorable meal.

Awesome Thai restaurant! Same Same doubles as a bar, we went to an 8pm reservation and spilled into the bar/nightclub turnover at 9 pm. The atmosphere and staff were amazing, super vibes and slick. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and not pushy. The food was insanely fresh and quick. Food came out hot and all the flavors were on point. It’s traditional Thai, with a modern spin. Highly recommend the chicken wings, and the tuna crudo. And since it’s a bar, the drinks are creative and tasty. Sits in upper floor of a Carlsbad shopping center, and kind of hidden in the back. Love this place, well done.

Food’s okayyy , service can really improve lol bartender here literally does order taking. Nothing above & beyond. Idk his name. Mid 40 ..? Doesnt care much about service. Kao soi - is it really egg noodles or angel’s hair pasta lol I liked cucumber, wontons though Lot of cocktails have spicy complexities which’s interesting to try but beside food & cocktails service kinda ruined all the stars.

We came here for a birthday drink and was surprised how amazing the food was! The food is Thai fusion. Everything is delicious. The vibe is relaxed and the drinks are carefully curated. Highly recommend for a celebration or when you want a great meal!

We sat at the bar so we had great service. The dining area is on the small side. Of course it’s hard to interact with 6 people at the bar, lol. We ordered the whole fish. I think it may have been a special. It was a rock fish, I believe. He had teeth and all!!! We shared it between 3 people. It was hard to know how to approach eating it at first, Ha! But once we dug in it was really good! I definitely swallowed a few small bones though. The cocktails are yummy too. The menu is hilarious with a quote for every drink. I love the plants everywhere! There’s even a small patio with seating as well. It’s a fun place in Carlsbad Village
