The Ostrich
The Ostrich in Chandler is a stylish, speakeasy-inspired gay bar blending Prohibition-era charm with modern flair. Its hidden entrance adds an element of intrigue, while the dim, cozy ambiance creates an intimate setting perfect for groups or quiet evenings. The creative cocktails stand out, often featuring artistic twists that elevate the drinking experience, though pricing can lean toward the premium side.
Service quality varies, with some staff delivering exceptional hospitality—proactive checks, timely food, and attentive care—while others may fall short in warmth or accuracy. The menu balances solid comfort food with shareable appetizers, though consistency in drink preparation and pricing transparency could improve. Ideal for those seeking a dark, immersive atmosphere without strict dress codes, it’s best enjoyed with an open mind to its quirks.

The drinks were amazing. The bartender put his own artistic style to every drink. The only issue was our hostess. She wasn't very welcoming and even yelled at us when we sat at our table. I would return as long as she's not serving us.
Soooooo let me start by saying, I don't want to spoil the way to get to the entrance here on Google. As a Chandler resident for 7 years, I would have NEVER guessed that the entrance of The Ostrich would be RIGHT THERE the entire time!!! I can't even tell you how many Saturday mornings (farmers market) I've walked towards it, near it, past it, and yea, not a clue!! Lol!! Okay, back to F&B report. Love love love!! My friends and I (3 people) came here for happy hour on a weekday, so we felt very taken care of. The food came out at a decent time, the drinks were delicious. Portion sizes are spot on (see photos) The service was excellent (shout out to Emma) and we were ask if everything was okay every 10-15 minutes, even after all of our food and drinks came out. I would have never imagined myself coming here had it not been my friend's recommendation. This place is officially on my top 5 HH list. I am not a dressed up type, but this place gave me a small motivation to do so, just because of the decor and how dark it was haha. Granted I saw other guests came in with jeans and tank tops no problem, and no special dress code is required.
Hosted my husband's 26th birthday here last night with 14 of our closest friends. Our waitress was incredible and so accommodating. Drinks were bomb, food was spectacular. Everything was timely and PERFECTION! Cannot recommend enough. We had a blast!!!
Went for a work holiday event and we had fun. Drinks and food was good. Some may consider the drinks pricey. My old fashioned and whiskey sour were about $20-$25 each but they were delicious. Food was good. They served us chicken parmesean, pasta, bread and salad. We also some appetizers which were great as well. A solid 7/10. Worth a try.
We went here for my birthday and from the get go our waitress didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. The food was great and it makes me want to go to Crust, but a lot of the drinks we ordered off the menu had ingredients missing which was disappointing for a cocktail bar. We put everything on one tab to make it easier on the staff and looking over it they added two extra drinks that no one got and didn’t take off for the happy hour drinks. They also charged two different prices for the same fries and two different prices for a drink (not on the happy our menu). I had a good time for my birthday celebration because of the people I was with, not because we went here.
We stopped in for a cocktail and had a fun time. It's not too expensive and has plenty of space for a group party. If you like old style prohibition era style bars you will like it here.
Did you know that the ostrich is basically a speakeasy below crust at all the locations?? Very cool idea — Comfortable cozy atmosphere with a menu of food items, snack items and creative drinks very friendly staff nice people thank you
