AWOL Bar

Nice bar/club ....drinks are great bartenders are nice especially Steve & Quàn (sp?) These two actually introduced themselves to me and as a club manager that means a LOT! But the Best is Mama D! She is the 1st one to make me feel VERY welcomed, PLUS she makes me smile even when I don't want to! I also want to acknowledge the coat cheque lady who was alsoawesome but i don't remember her name..my apologies (tequila) lol

This was my first time being at a bar by myself. Micheal was a great bartender. He made me feel comfortable and provided delicious drinks. This man truly deserves a raise due to how personable he is. He works harder than what is expected which should be appreciated 👏❤️

Spent a couple evenings here, and really had a good time both nights. There was a show Friday and a DJ on Saturday. Met quite a few of the patrons and looking forward to meeting more. It's a place I could see me hanging out at, in the near term. And since this review, AWOL has become my home. Even though Covid, I patronized the club. And with the relaxation of restrictions dancing has returned. Masking may be required for a couple more weeks, but it's fun to meet someone new here.

sooooooo GREAT to experience a GAY BAR in the CLASSIC TRADITION... FUN, WILD, COOL, ENERGETIC... with a GREAT SENSE of COMMUNITY !!!!... the HEART of the WHOLE JOINT is HOSTESS/COAT CHECK/SPIRITUAL ADVISOR "MAMA D"... she made ME (and EVERYONE!) feel WELCOME... she is the PERSONIFICATION of "A BLAST".... and her COMMENTS/QUIPS/STORIES are THE BEST... simply HYSTERICAL !!!!... i REEEEEEALLY ENJOYED my TIME at AWOL... i attended on BUSY NIGHTS and i even returned for some LATE NIGHT DRINKS on a MONDAY !!!!... i had a FULL ON BLAST every time i was THERE !!!!!... AWOL is "THERE" for YOU !!!!!... and i now REGARD it as one of my FAVES in the USA !!!!... once again... GO TO HAVE A FANTASTIC NIGHT, but STAY for.. the LEGENDARY "MAMA D" !!!!!!

Idk if it was racism but they couldn’t "scan " my Mexican passport and I had to wait until the guy at the door let me in out of compassion. Do they really treat tourists like that or only those who look Latinos?

Don't use your cash app to pay cover charge on Saturday. Cover $5, however, was charge $6.40 which didn't show on my card until 2:48am which should have been charged immediately. Then at 12:02pm Sunday it went from $6.40 to $7.68!!! This has happened more then once. I actually ask the gentleman working the door will my card be charged more then the $5 cover due to past cover charge increases after I pay and was told no extra charge would be added. Once again they got me for $2.68 extra!! BRING CASH TO PAY COVER CHARGE ON SATURDAY!! Outside of that great place!!

Service gets fives for Nicholas the bartender who is very hard working. Door is great as well but lady that checks identification card could be a little nicer to the bar patrons. Overall she is nice but comes across pushy at moments. But overall is amazing it’s busy sometimes getting a drink in the back bar is hectic but it is what it is
