I rarely give reviews, but I have to say, tonight was my first night out literally In years, and definitely the first time since my husband and I moved to Dallas years ago for work, due to adulting, life or what have you: and I cannot express enough how enjoyable my night was because of the authenticity of Nixy at the upstairs bar. As an ex bartender for all of my 20s in gay clubs in NY, it’s easily identifiable who is being authentically themselves and presenting an honest version of theirselves to their patrons, and who is putting on a show: and I can’t not express enough that Nixy allowed me to enjoy the drag show in that I came to see, and every step of the way was just a real down to earth person with my husband, myself and our good friend who was seeing Dallas for the first time. I came for the show, and left a fan of the service. . I can assure I will be back, not only for the amazing show you put on for us, but also for the genuine, authentic evening that amazing bartenders like Nixy ensured that had. Once again proving that it’s not about what your giving your patrons but how you make them feel while they escape the stress and whoa of real life for a bit, Thank you, Nixy, from the depths of my soul, and thank you Rose room for giving me the exact distraction in life that I needed.

I visited Jr’s on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of friends. This is a typical gay bar and one of the busiest and biggest on Cedar Springs. I’ve been here a few times because my gay friends enjoy it. We decided to hang out upstairs on the terrace. I have a couple of critiques about the place. First, the music was very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation with friends. If you’re planning to catch up or chat, it can be quite challenging due to the noise level. Second, I found the drinks to be a little overpriced compared to the decor and service. While the atmosphere is lively and the terrace offers a nice view, the pricing doesn’t quite match the overall experience in terms of value. Despite these points, I had a great experience overall. The bar has a vibrant and energetic ambiance that makes it a fun spot to hang out. The terrace was a nice place to relax and enjoy the company of friends. If you’re looking for a lively gay bar with a bustling crowd, Jr’s is definitely worth a visit, even if it comes with a few minor drawbacks.

The staff here seem to work at two different extremes. While the gatekeepers checking documents are very friendly, the bartenders and waiters are very grumpy with customers. The drinks are also prepared, nothing special, it's not bad but nothing special either. But obviously the price is very high. But in return, the very fun atmosphere that this place brings is admittedly wonderful, the only thing is that the MC is quite ungainly when making sarcastic comments that look down on customers.

The worst night of my life for my husband and me. The transgender girl is a horribly rude and disrespectful person. She tried to hit me and my husband. The worst part is that this girl went out into the street to continue verbally attacking us. Then she screamed and grabbed another guy. I recommend that friends and people in the community avoid this place. The transgender girl makes the experience as uncomfortable as possible. If you don't want people, don't sell or cheat on them.

I've always had a great time at Jr's and I love their turkey burger and the bartenders are amazing. Love them as well. Been going there since I was in my twenties early twenties

If chaos, glitter, and deep-fried magic had a baby, it would be Double Trouble at JR’s. I came for the corn dogs and onion rings, but I stayed because Bleach and Mulan held me hostage with pure drag excellence. Bleach strutted out like she’d just snorted a line of confidence and rhinestones—unstoppable, unbothered, and giving "Texas Trash Couture" in the best possible way. Then Mulan hit the stage, serving face, fantasy, and a ferocity that made me question my sexuality again. Between bites of crispy onion rings and moments of spiritual awakening (helped by a few strong cocktails), I realized I was witnessing a sacred ritual: drag, laughter, and corn dogs colliding in perfect harmony. By the end, the crowd was screaming, wigs were flying, and I had mustard on my shirt and tears in my eyes. 10/10 would recommend bringing your friends, your appetite, and maybe a spare wig—because you might lose yours.

I mean come on! What's not to love about a bar in the heart of Cedar Springs? Staff is always nice and remember you, music is always bumping, plus its a nice place to dance and catch up with friends.
