Ace Gillett's Lounge

I really want to love Ace Gillett’s — the vibe is cool and I’ve given it multiple chances — but every time it just ends up feeling… meh. The drinks are pricey, often not well-balanced, and take way too long to come out, even when the place isn’t busy. Service is fine, nothing standout. The food tastes good enough, but portions are small for the price. On my last visit, I found a giant hair literally woven into my first bite. I get that these things happen, but it didn’t help the overall underwhelming experience. That said, I do think the space itself has potential, so I might give it another shot in the future and hope for a better experience.

For us it is quite the splurge to come to Ace Gilletts. It is about the music and the atmosphere. It is a hidden world of music. We went last night. And, I am plotting on how to get back. For Christmas it is an amazing date spot like you never would have dreamed. We came less formal than we should have my 21 year old son would like to wear a tuxedo here. You don't have to plan for a magical 1920s moment it exists here at this speakeasy. Glittering oil lamp candles glimmer like crystal around a grand piano or in half shell seats for four. We love the happy hour and grab "the High Society" non alcoholic drink with grapefruit, lime and hibiscus simple syrup. My son needs to know a good date spot, to appreciate the arts, to believe in the best and so we wanted to share it with him. He also loves culinary experiences and will be inspired to recreate foods and drinks.

I had breakfast at Ace Gillette‘s Café and it was amazing. The food was perfectly cooked, fresh, and great flavor, the hot sauce was perfect with three choices of local hot sauce, and a fresh sangria topped off to make one great breakfast. I will 100% be back to try more of the great food

We went for their 5-6 pm happy hour on Saturday night with the intention of getting dinner afterwards. All seats at the bar were taken, and the restaurant was on a 15 minute wait. We put our names down, and asked about grabbing a drink at the bar while we waited. The host told us that was not an option, as people are not allowed to stand at the bar (?). We sat down shortly thereafter. It took about 10 minutes for our server to come to the table. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The appetizer came out 5 or so minutes later, but almost 30 minutes later, we still did not have our drinks. The server assured us they were on the way, and took our dinner order. The drinks finally arrived, just before dinner was served. It was a pretty disappointing experience, especially for just 3 people who each only had 1 cocktail. The food was good (which is the only reason I am giving the review two stars instead of one), but the service was extremely poor, enough so that I would not go back again.

Where do I start? This was the BEST bar experience I’ve ever had. The staff (shoutout to Val and Benjamin) are so incredibly friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. We spent two nights at the hotel upstairs, which was perfect because we came in for drinks 3 times in the short 48 hours there. The menu is fantastic (food and drink). If you can, hangout at the bar and get to the know staff. Also, huge win that they have great music (live and DJ) in a beautiful setting. Thank you so much, everyone! We can’t wait to come back!

Ace Gillettes Lounge is so classy! We were thoroughly impressed by the amazing shrimp and grits, and the live piano added a wonderful touch to the ambiance. The overall atmosphere makes it a standout spot. Highly recommended for a great night out!

Great visit today. Our server, Meg, was great. She was knowledgeable about the food and drinks and had good recommendations. The food was great as well. We started with the Deviled Eggs for our app and had Supper Club Tray and Caprese Grilled Cheese for our meals. The drinks were great as well. The bartender knows how to make a good drink!
