Stopped by to check out a place to get some drinks before a concert and came across Sunny's! Matt's service was exceptional and genuine! $1 jellos are a steal and they are delicious, the rest of the backbar is economical. The pool tables and bar games are always a plus!
Matt was absolutely fantastic. His energy brought the entire bar to life even when there were only a few customers here. Drinks were reasonably priced and Matt made them RIGHT. Dive bars are my favorite and I 10/10 recommend!
Super cool, laid-back, down-to-Earth bar with great bartenders! Small area up front but it has a pool-table and foosball table in the background. Jello Shot's are also cheap.
Had one night in houston on my honeymoon with my wife and we spent it in Sunnys. One of the most fun bars we found in our trip across the states. Really cheap, really strong drinks, really friendly bartender (I forget his name, but he was a young guy who's Mum owned the place). I got cataclysmically drunk here and it was one of the best nights I had in the USA.

Kind of a transient/local dive bar. Seems to be an after game spot for Astros nerds. 15 people will walk in, order jello shots and walk out. Goes from empty to packed in seconds. Relaxed querky vibe. Prices lower than the downtown norm. Nothing on tap, all bottles and no food. BYOF is allowed. Cool for what it is.
Um, yeah! I first walked in here a couple of months ago... I met Pom, she was a wonderful host. Since then, I have come back many times and met many of the staff. Even so, I like to be served by Pom. She is constantly moving, it's wild her attention to detail, and her ability to make you feel at home is what brought me back each time.
