Blipsy Bar

📍 Gay bars in Los Angeles

6.4

Blipsy Bar is a cozy, arcade-themed spot in Los Angeles where retro gaming meets a laid-back vibe. The cash-only establishment offers a mix of classic and niche games, with a friendly crew that often engages guests in playful challenges. While the bar itself has a slightly rustic charm, its eclectic music—spanning 80s hits and indie tracks—adds to the relaxed atmosphere. Drinks are well-poured, though prices lean higher than average, and outside food is welcome.

The space is small but inviting, ideal for solo visits or small groups. Parking can be tricky, but its proximity to nearby lots makes it convenient. Though food options are limited, the occasional specials (like burgers or adult ice cream) provide a fun touch. A few quirks—like inconsistent game functionality—keep it from being flawless, but the overall experience remains engaging for those who enjoy a mix of nostalgia and social energy.

I love this place because it’s a little gem with some great games and heavy pours on the drinks. It’s cash only and the games are cheap like between $0.25-$0.50/ per game. The owners are super cool and will show you their skill on games like Ms. PAC-Man and Off Road. They don’t serve food but you can bring food in and utilize the tables open seating. Not a big place but great for a good time solo or with friends. But don’t forget it’s CASH ONLY. There’s an ATM in the bank too.

The staff is friendly, so are the customers. The music is eclectic but leans toward either 80s classics or emo will a little bit of hip Hop. Some of the games just don't work at all but some of them are games you wont find anywhere else. I don't know if the parking situation in the laundromat is a problem. I've never parked there but it's tempting since it's convenient and right next to the bar. Drinks are basic but decent strength.

Interesting place. The atmosphere is very cool and there are many arcade games to choose from. It's also decorated very neatly. As for the actual bar itself, it's kind of a dive. The staff and the regulars seemed nice, but were a little rough around the edges. They told me that they do a heck of a burger. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try it. The prices on the drinks were quite high; $12 for a big can of beer and $17 for a long Island ice tea. Overall, this is ain't bad and may return some day if ever in the area.

This is a super cute and chic place to chill with friends and have a good time. They also have veggie burgers and ice cream available (for adults) so munchies are on the table! As far as drinks goes I only had a ginger ale but they do have a shot and beer deal on deck. So, if you are looking for a fun vibrant chic environment this is the place for you.

The concept is fun but they thoroughly missed the mark. I walked in on a Saturday night and the vibe was dismal. It was as if you were early to a college dorm room hang with lukewarm liquor and mixers, which is fine i guess, but the prices do not reflect that. A tall can of miller high life is $10 and a shot of well whisky is $13. A $23 beer and shot combo is insane. Not to mention the lack of music (the jukebox has to be fed $1.00 per song… so its silent 70% of the time). Could be a cool spot but lots of room for improvement!

Says open at 12pm and at almost 3pm the doors were completely locked with nobody there. Bummer, as we were really excited to check this place out. You guys have an instagram, use that to post a story letting people know you’re not open yet or something
