La Cita Bar
La Cita Bar stands out as a spacious and dynamic gay-friendly venue in Los Angeles, blending authentic Mexican vibes with a lively atmosphere. The outdoor patio expands its capacity, making it ideal for groups, though seating can fill up quickly—arriving early ensures a spot. Known for its energetic late-night scene, particularly after 11 PM, the bar offers a mix of great drinks and a high-energy environment, though service speed and occasional crowd management can vary.
The interior design, with its striking lighting, adds character, while the music selection keeps the energy elevated. While some may find the setting edgy, the bouncers maintain a firm but fair presence, ensuring safety without overshadowing the fun. Pricing remains reasonable for the area, though drink quality and wait times can be inconsistent. Best suited for those seeking a bold, immersive experience rather than a relaxed outing.

This place really comes alive late at night, especially between 11 PM and midnight, when it starts to fill up fast. The energy is high and the atmosphere is fun and lively. There’s an outdoor patio that adds extra space, though it can get noisy inside and out. Even with the volume, it’s still possible to hold a conversation. Seating doesn’t last long, so grabbing a table early is a smart move if you plan to stay awhile.
Tried it for the first time & it definitely became the last. The Drinks were absolutely Trash & overpriced. Music would turn off randomly and the vibe was uncomfortable at times. Creepy atmosphere to be honest. It Feels like a place the Cartel would hang out. I'm Not sure why anyone would come here. So many better venues close by that offer a better vibe and better drinks. *Positive note: Bouncers at the door are Cool.
Pretty good bar in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Surprisingly large, with a large indoors seating and standing area, as well as a large outdoors seating area. My group arrived around 5:30pm and there was more than enough room for us. I heard the drinks are great. Didn’t see any food offerings, though. Recommendable for large groups.
Coming up from San Diego, this place was really rocking. A lot of space and the outdoor area is a nice touch to step out if it becomes too hot outside. Place is a little run down, but it honestly builds it character. Prices are also reasonable for Los Angeles.
Waited 25 mins for a drink then when I stood on the chair to get the bartenders attention the security came at me crazy and threatened to kick me out. I told him I’ve been waiting over 20 mins for a drink to which he replied "wait 20 minutes more " And shockingly we had to!! It took over over 45 minutes to get a drink. Bartenders did literally everything possible except serve drinks, until that is all they had left to. Don’t understand why it’s crowded whew I could get better service all round (from security to service) and Musis without the attitude and wait.
This place is dope. Do you remember the Infinity room the Broad museum had a while back? First time walking in, it felt like that - the lighting is so cool! The vibe is great, Mexican through and through, and I wish we'd come later at night, you can just tell it gets lit. Drinks were good too, nothin like an authentic Paloma🤤
Excellent music, great drinks available, and dancing. Can be a bit edgy for some, alcohol and tempers, mostly. The security takes such things VERY seriously and quickly, so definitely come correct or attend elsewhere if you're looking for a more relaxed environment. Good times to be bad here for sure, I had a blast and the music was muy caliente, no doubt. 🕺🎶
