This is my favorite bar. We happened upon it while walking around. It is the most local bar you could ever ask for. The bartender was amazing! The people all know each other and are welcoming to visitors!
The moment you walk into The Friendly Bar, you're hit with that comforting, familiar scent of an old-school dive bar – a mix of stale beer, well-worn wood, and good times. This isn't some trendy new spot trying to be something it's not; The Frienly bar is the real deal, and that's precisely its charm.
The Friendly Bar is a really great New Orleans dive bar, with great service and good drinks. I do not believe they serve any food other than chips and such but it is a great spot to have a few beers or cocktails. The staff is very friendly and the drinks are very reasonable. More locals and repeat customers but there are also a fair amount of tourists as well. Truly a friendly bar.
They weren't kidding, this sure is a friendly bar. Vibes are super chill and everyone is nice on either side of the bar. 10/10, would wait for an Uber outside at 3am here again

It’s not called friendly bar for nothing! People are friendly here. Damn cheap drinks and they have darts and a pool table.
Found it by accident and came back a few times after that. Real nice atmosphere and service. It is really a friendly place 🙂
