Customer Reviews
EGO Providence has a rating of 3 out of 5 based on over 270 reviews on Google
Great atmosphere, very friendly bartenders, and excellent service. The only negative I have to say is the attitude of the security guards; they're very rude. When you arrive, some are very nice, but when it's time to leave, they don't even wait two minutes; they're just plain out of the way and have attitude. But otherwise, it's very good. The drinks came to $9.50, which isn't too bad. And they were very well prepared. There is no food service. As far as I know.
The vibes of the people, the bartenders, and the DJs are amazing and I have nothing negative to say about them at all. But while I've had a lot of fun at this club in the past the bouncers have seriously put me off of coming here. The first negative instances I've experienced were the speeches you'd get at the door insinuating me and my friends are there to cause trouble and assuming our sexuality. But since those days the trouble they've given me while going there has only escalated. Before this most recent visit me and my friends were completely denied entry because we looked straight and were told "we needed to be looking for boyfriends" to get in. I don't think it needs to be said but discrimination is never ok no matter the flavor, it works both ways and if you want a welcoming safe environment you need to foster it. But this most recent visit was by far the worst. While leaving the club after the NYE event we were harassed and threatened violence against us. We were waiting for Ubers under the tent well before closing and had flashlights shined in our faces, multitudes of negative comments and attitude thrown at us because we were enjoying the night and had drinks earlier. And while our rides arrived and we went to leave one of the bounces was pushing me and a friend of mine out while threatening to "smack the fire" out of us. You're led to believe that because the nature of the club they'd be inclusive but that's not the case at all if you want a safe space free of judgement avoid this place at all costs. It's a shame because the club itself is fun but the harassment and aggression the bouncers show towards the people who are literally keeping there jobs going is ridiculous.
The people working security here are on another level. As I was getting patted down the female patting me down grabbed my breast and asked "what's this" while touching my bra. She then proceeded to glid her fingers across my downstairs area in between my legs which I've never experienced during any other pat down. made me feel very uncomfortable. Another time I was the designated driver for me and my friends for the night and I was denied entry for being too drunk the bouncer even said "honey you're a mess". I think they thought this because I was limping due to an injury but besides that I was very clearly sober. After getting past security you'll have a fun time.
I was lucky enough to win the Instagram contest for Pride and received free tickets for a party of four to attend all the events and it was truly unforgettable! The energy, the people, and the entire weekend were absolutely immaculate. I had the best time and enjoyed every moment. Huge thanks to the incredible team at Ego for making it all happen!
I have been going to EGO for a few years now and never had any problems until recently this year (2025). The security/bouncers are just so rude now and it makes me rethink about going back there. Why should I give a business my money when they treat me and my friends like shit. I understand it can be frustrating dealing with people especially when they are drunk. But when my friend group is actively walking out the club and a security guard threatens to smack my friend if they don’t hurry up and get out, that’s when I have a problem. You don’t threaten people especially when they aren’t doing anything to you. It’s sad, really enjoyed coming here and whenever anyone suggested going to EGO it was a no brainer we were always down, but I think it’s time to look for a new place to have fun that won’t threaten us :). Aside from the disrespectful security/bouncers- the bartenders have always been super sweet and the music is good. So thank you to the bartenders and DJs, y’all are amazing.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Very unprofessional and disappointing Went to this club last night with a friend, and the staff completely messed up our night. They gave me a wristband at the door but not my friend, even though we both showed ID. About an hour later, a security guard rudely snatched my friend’s drink and tried to kick him out because he didn’t have a wristband — which was their mistake, not his. When he went to show his ID again, they even denied seeing him come in, which made no sense. The manager eventually gave him a wristband, but the whole situation was handled so poorly and unprofessionally. The staff clearly needs better training and communication.
I went in the dead of winter with my friends. I paid to have my coat checked. We had lots of fun and the vibes were good. However, when we were leaving, we discovered that the person doing coat check was clearly not actually checking tags. They lost my coat. When it became clear that there was a problem, the coat checker pretended that she had actually been checking tags the whole time, which pissed me off. The manager was kind and helpful, and eventually compensated me for part of what was lost, but I had to walk around Providence in January in a thin sweatshirt. Less than ideal.
