GOLD LOUNGE
Highlights is a modest, niche venue that blends drag performances with a casual nightlife atmosphere, often operating as a hidden gem rather than a mainstream destination. The experience tends to lean toward an intimate, low-key setting, where entertainment takes center stage in a setting that may not always align with expectations of a polished nightclub.
While the queer cultural scene and occasional burlesque or drag shows offer unique appeal, guests should be aware of inconsistencies in venue presentation, including limited amenities like food and drink options. Safety and staff responsiveness have also raised concerns, emphasizing the importance of discretion and awareness when attending.

What is happening here?! We came for a drag show expecting to see men dressed as tall beautiful women and found a Mexican restaurant posing as a nightclub. When I spent $55 on VIP tickets to be in the first five rows I didn’t expect that there’d only be four rows, a crying baby and $12 drinks the size of my tiny hand. The queens put on a good show as well as they could with music so loud NOTHING could be heard including the smattering of applause while the house lights were up during the entire performance and the DJ fumbled the song line up.
This is a "hole in the wall" type of place. No shade to the owner. But this is the type of place that you would not know about it Unless someone invited you to it. I didn't have anything to eat, which I don't believe they sell food, and I did not have anything to drink either. I actually didn't even know this place existed until I bought tickets to a burlesque show and the day before the show I received a text stating that it was going to take place at this location. Once I arrived, I was very skeptical about the location and how upscale this show was going to be. And my hunch was correct..... We left at intermission, and this was a show that we actually paid for. Smh.
My friend had recently went to the club and she got sexual assaulted. I’m not blaming the club for what happened but I am blaming them for not standing up for her or helping her with the situation. As she was dancing a man came behind her and forcefully inserted his fingers into her. He then proceeded to scratch her insides, leaving her hurt and traumatized. Not only did he do this to one girl, but two.. After the incident both girls had went up to a security guard who was drunk. Drunk on the job and didn’t do anything to help. He brushed it off his shoulders and let the man walk away. There was ample amount of time for the security guard to help, get the man or even call authorities.. neither of those thing took place.. All I’m saying ladies is be careful and have your head on a swivel.
A fun place to dance, drink and have fun, Gold Lounge has a fantastic DJ and a friendly staff. If you're looking for a place to have fun, this is your place.
Great place to go for hookah and pool. The music, however, is DEAFENING. There is no reason in the world to have music so loud. You can’t hear anyone or anything. The drinks are ridiculously overpriced. We went and got two shots of Black Label for $18 each. EACH.
The food here made me tear up. The best Latin food I've had since I've left NYC. The service was kind although my Spanish is very limited. The music was hitting. It was mostly empty when I went but my friend and I still enjoyed ourselves!
Very racist environment. We came here for a good night out thinking it was inclusive based on the clubs description. However, we were given false information. As their kitchen closed EARLY, we asked if we could eat at the food truck that was adjacent to the club and bring it inside to eat as was ADVERTISED on the website. We were told by both the bar staff and hookah staff that it would be OK. However the club owner completely overreacted and tried to kick us out after we paid for the hookah and drinks. We did not want to disrespect the club rules, so that’s why we asked first. He treated us like second class citizens and sprayed Lysol around out of anger and hatred. Will NEVER be back or recommend to anyone else. Terrible customer service.
