5 Star Saloon
This establishment presents a contrasting experience compared to the lively gay nightlife scene in Reno. While it may have drawn attention for its reputation, reports suggest a lackluster atmosphere during off-peak hours, with sparse crowds and subdued music failing to create an engaging environment. The customer service approach has also raised concerns, particularly regarding interactions at the front desk, where some visitors felt unwelcomed or met with resistance when seeking basic accommodations.
Potential patrons should consider visiting during busier times to align expectations with the venue’s capacity. Additionally, clarity on policies—such as refunds—could enhance transparency and improve the overall experience. For those prioritizing a friendly and energetic setting, exploring alternative venues with a stronger track record of hospitality may be more rewarding.

It was our first night clubbing in reno and heard a lot of great reviews and friendly atmosphere about this place but unfortunately we were met with the most disappointing outcome. We went around 11:30-12:00. When we walked in, the place was absolutely dead and the music was so low we could hear each other breathing. The people in there didn’t really greet us and were kind of rude right off the bat. I handed my cash first but the group of people I was with wanted to leave, so I asked for my money back and was denied even though it was handed 2 seconds prior. No sign or anything that says no refunds btw. The girl at the front then decided to give us the nastiest look and attitude and argued with us for a solid 10 minutes. We left without our money back. They probably needed it more than us. Go to El Jefes instead. People are way nicer there and the music is actually danceable. Horrible place. Don’t go unless you want your night to be miserable.
Horrible, find somewhere else to dance, there were all of 5 people and the management was rude. Don't expect to get a refund on the cover charge if you just handed over your cash 3 seconds ago and realize the club is dead. Would give negative stars if I could, front desk girl had THE worst attitude and nastiest energy and manager was okay with her behavior. I don't like leaving negative reviews, usually just let it go, but this was the worst place I've ever been to in Reno for the way they handle their customers alone. They were desperate for those $20. Take your money elsewhere.
The atmosphere was amazing and living! Love the music and vibe. It was a Friday night and there were two bartenders (woman with long black hair and man with a bun). The bar was very busy. My friend and I waited for 15-20 mins and no one acknowledged us. The man went to the person next to us to served them and I told him "4 cranberry vodka please." He said "I don’t served to those yelling at me." Let me remind you, it was loud and I wasn’t yelling at him. He went to served other people besides of us, skipping us. After that, he came back to serve us.
Elaysa, the bartender, was amazing. It was a quiet night and she kicked the vibes up to 1000%. She gave us an amazing time when we’re visiting Reno and the other local customers here are friendly and fun. 100% must visit.
This place is only a vibe after midnight. There is a pool table but it’s only open once a week on a Tuesday before the 15th but not before the 10th and maybe on last Wednesday. Regardless the DJ vibes, each time. Drinks are kinda pricey.
The website is outdated, the "nightly" section says Friday's are AYCD well 9:30-11:30 for $10. They bartender was offended I asked about it. Said it is NOT a thing. (Tall man bun bartender) That's fine I get when owners check out and nobody manages the website. Okay, so I order a beer, he was so rude, and short 1 word answers. Fast forward to people showing up. The bridal shower, and grooms night show up together, I wait in line for a beer and am ignored by both bartenders now. While the lady and the man bartender flirt with the girls asking for water. I wait a few minutes more when these bridal parties show up, I'm skipped over for a drink, and all of them are served, I make eye contact and try to order from the man bun bartender, he makes direct contact and then walks away. I've had 3 beers 2.5 hours. This is not a gay bar, it's a straight bar with a few queer people. The bartender treats the gay guys like he's superior and spends too much time flirting with girls who aren't paying or tipping. I have been coming to this bar to years. It used to be so much better. Avoid this bar, it false advertises their specials, has rude staff, and mostly straight girls. Side note, security is extremely nice. It's too bad the service industry folk (bartenders) are not nice, and they work for tips.
This place? Straight-up chaos. Floors are nasty, bathrooms are broken (and lowkey moldy), and the bartenders have the worst vibes, especially the dude rocking the man bun. Chill on the outside, rude on the inside. Security? A joke. No one’s getting checked properly, and some of the guards look like they’re sipping on something stronger than water while trying to flirt instead of, you know, doing their job. It’s giving unsafe. In 2025, safety should be non-negotiable, and this spot is flopping hard. Y’all deserve better. Stop normalizing trash service and crusty conditions. Raise the bar.
