The Front Row

📍 Gay bars in Roanoke

9.1

This establishment stands out as a welcoming local dive bar, blending a cozy atmosphere with lively entertainment. Known for its open mic nights, it offers a platform for local talent, creating an engaging experience for both performers and guests. The bar also serves up-to-date fryer food and burgers, complemented by a well-stocked selection of cold beverages.

While the friendly bartender and relaxed setting contribute to a pleasant visit, occasional inconsistencies in drink preparation and service professionalism may detract from the overall experience. Convenient curbside parking adds to its accessibility, making it a solid choice for casual outings or evening gatherings.

Stopped in for open mic night. Feels like a lovely local dive bar. Excellent service and cold drinks. GREAT OPEN MIC! Lots of players and an opening poet.

Local Dive bar. Has cooked to order fryer food and burgers. Curbside parking. Bartender was friendly. Came for open mic, had a lot of fun. Will be back!

I usually don’t have a bad time here — it’s never amazing, but it’s always been fine… until last night. I ordered a double vodka cranberry, and it honestly didn’t even taste like there was a single shot in it. I’m not one to complain or "be a Karen," but I politely told the bartender I wasn’t happy with the drink and asked if I could just get a shot on the side to add myself. Instead of helping, they gave me an attitude and treated me like I was causing a problem. I even said I’d pay for the extra shot — it wasn’t about the money, I just wanted my drink fixed. Then I asked about the discount my friends received (we all live across the street at West Station). I didn’t mind paying full price; I just wanted to understand. The response I got was rude and unprofessional. They told me, "we don’t give out alcohol for free," in a tone that made it sound like I was trying to get something for nothing — which I definitely wasn’t. It was disrespectful and unnecessary. I’ve heard rumors that the work environment there can be toxic, and after last night, I can see why. I won’t be coming back until the staff is more professional and knows how to treat customers with basic respect.

I love this little hidden joint. And they just started doing Authentic Ramen Monday nights from 6pm-9pm. Choices of protein are Steak, Ahi Tuna, Chicken and Tofu. I slurped the broth at the end and was wanting seconds. I highly recommend. They also have open mic comedy starting at 8pm Mondays. I’ll be going back every week.

Cool chill bar, food is amazing. Wings were great, same as the burgers. Decently priced wings. And they have open mic on Wednesday nights!

This bar is fantastic! The vibes are so good here and Heidi is an amazing bartender! The only drawback was their ranch dressing- I got a basket of fries and they were great, but the ranch tasted rotten. Update- I spoke to an employee and they’re going to make a change with the ranch they use! FIVE STARS!
