Pecs Bar

Food is on the bottom level from a separate family owned kitchen. I had the burger. It was juicy and incredibly tasty. Drinks were on point, not to strong. Atmosphere was great! Incredible out door areas. Super friendly staff!

My favorite not so dive dive bar in SD. Pecs is a very welcoming, friendly, burly beary gay bar in North Park. It's got great music, two bars, two patios, several restrooms and good eats when available. The staff is great, even the security guy is nice. Parking can leave much to be desired, but it's always worth stopping in. A Lyft or even Uber can do wonders as well as traveling with a group. Saturdays and Sundays seem to be the busiest, though the outside areas close by 10pm, being on the cusp of a residential area. Check them out on Facebook and Instagram as well as their website, though the website needs a smidge of updating. Leather bar-esque. All are welcome!

Great bar with great vibes, friendly staff & locals. As far as other reviews go, I had no hesitation in going & had a very good time. Go with a "gracious guest" attitude and you will find that you will be welcomed warmly. Locals I know highly recommend this bar & they are not wrong. Best bar I’ve been to in a long time. Cheers!

Had so much fun here tonight despite my anxiety and shyness got to me but still people are nice. It is a good environment, the bartenders is nice. The bartender that served me was helpful, nice and talk to me here and there. The old gays that talked to me and all randomly and called me Hennessy were so nice and welcoming and helped me a bit to break away from the shyness. Great environment to meet people and talk. I wish I was not overwhelmed, awkward and was the verge of breaking down because of my shyness. Lmao Overall amazing, fun, spectacular, great drinks, nice staff, nice people. Would come again whenever I am in San Diego!!!!

I asked the bartender for a Manhattan and he didn’t know how to make one. I mean…I know this isn’t a craft cocktail bar, but FFS hire bartenders who know how to make basic drinks. FWIW the bartender was nice enough (if unqualified) and the bar itself has good vibes. So just get a beer or a drink with no more than two ingredients, I guess?

Dutch is a awesome bartender, made me feel like this could be a new home. He and the other employees also had creative nights

Great bar but the only let down is customer service if that bothers you at all. A very busy bar with passive aggressive service including a bit of proudness if that’s your cup of tea . The bar could achieve 5 stars but the staff and toilets let down this place for more potential. The washroom is shared with a urinal and toilet in the same room, again if that’s your cup of tea then this might be a place for you to hog. Being a visitor to San Diego this bar seems very well established with locals so it very difficult to mingle with the locals. The drink's from the taps don’t taste too good more likely that there is a maintenance issue with pipe cleaning. The soft drinks tastes unusual including the beer. I was offered an alternative to red bull and that tasted off. I went to order a third drink Big Wave and that also did not taste the same as the one I had at the Pizza Shop in the main gay village.
