Gary's at the Belvedere

📍 Gay bars in Santa Rosa

7.7

This venue presents itself as a casual, social hub for LGBTQ+ patrons, offering a mix of drinks, pool games, and a laid-back atmosphere. While the space accommodates late-night crowds and features a lively bar area, inconsistencies in service quality occasionally surface. Some guests report delays in food orders, particularly when relying on upstairs coordination, and occasional lapses in attentiveness from staff.

The establishment’s friendliness can vary, with reports of both warm interactions and moments of impatience—particularly at the bar. For those seeking a straightforward, no-frills experience with pool tables and cocktails, it may meet expectations, though management could refine staff training to ensure a more uniform level of hospitality. Ideal for small groups or casual outings.

I am writing this review with deep disappointment. This establishment proudly labels itself as "gay-friendly," but our experience was the complete opposite. The attitude of two staff members in particular was unacceptable. The security guard at the entrance was unnecessarily rude and aggressive from the moment we arrived, setting a negative tone. Later, the bartender displayed clear impatience and provided service with a dismissive and condescending attitude. For a place that claims to be an inclusive safe space, the behavior of its staff was ironically exclusionary and unwelcoming. We did not feel safe or respected. I cannot in good conscience recommend this venue to anyone, especially not to members of the LGBTQ+ community who are seeking a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Management needs to seriously retrain staff on what "friendly" truly means.

We got here by 1130. My friend has never been here before. Myself.... been at least 7-8 hrs. We played pool n had drinks. Started with the jello shots n soon after a cocktail. We needed a last quarter for a game of pool. I went to get the quarter n my full drink was toss out. It had a napkin n straw over the top!! Upo

This is one of my friend's favorite places to go so he decided to take me along one day. Well, I wasn't impressed. We tried to order food which became an ordeal since you have to order from upstairs and they never answered the phone to place an order to begin with. I had to walk upstairs to place the order that took over an hour. The other thing I couldn't stand was the uneven floors and the fact that the bartender never came to our table. I had to go up to the bar to get any refills on our drinks. So, I don't care to return.

The staff were amazing - the bar tender was a doll & poured good drinks. The rest of the staff was so fun and know how to have a good time. My sister and I enjoyed ourselves & had so much fun- it was a good fun late night local scene- thanks for a good time until next time -Alaska

Fab dive bar with a good beer range. And Baileys. Might have overdone it on the Baileys. 😂

Eh....played pool which was cool, but the customer service was horrible. It's important to embrace all and be inclusive....when it came to the bartenders they seemed like it was a problem to serve us...less than welcoming.

I love going to this spot, it doesn't matter what day of the week it is, it always has a lively home feel to it. The prices are fair and the cocktails are strong. Pizza is one of the best in town and the bartenders are awesome. I usually end here on a weekend because when everywhere else is slowing down it feels like everyone headed here.
