This place has been my favorite Seattle Venue since I moved here 17 years ago. There is no place I feel more at home than here, and I've met so many of the best people in my life here. They are a private club, and you either need to be a member of have a member guest you in on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays , and they do have a dress code which is ALWAYS enforced. They work very hard to create a safe space for patrons and make sure people know the rules which are RULES and not suggestions. Act like an ass and you will be 86'd no matter how much you think you shouldn't be or how much money you have, and that is something I really appreciate. The music is fantastic, and while prices have gone up here (as they have everywhere) they are still cheaper than almost any other club.
No goth music at all, desolate and boring. A man at front reads you "rules"… more like basic human behavior, that even kindergarteners are aware of. If these kind of rules have to be said in the first place, tells a lot about the kind of people that would come, or have been here. And which by the way doesn’t apply for the staff because the dude at the front was specially super rude. "This is a members club only, but Sundays we are open for others. 5, both of you". You would think OHH WOAAAHHH sorry for even considering entering your super exclusive VIP palazzo, your majesty. Drinks are boring, and they act like it’s regal, but looks and smells like an 18th century brothel.
I was told to specifically exit through a certain door then they yelled and cussed at me after I did so. This club is amateur hour run by wannabe goths. They make you listen to a long list of rules promoting acceptance and then are extremely disrespectful themselves. There are plenty of other authentic goth places in Seattle that don’t take Hot Topic as inspo. The music sucked and there was probably like 5 people in the club so don’t waste your time unless you want to be bullied by a bunch of rejects pretending to provide a "safe space." The place is only safe for them to unleash their anger on customers.
[Visted Oct 18] My very first time through the door was greeted by an extremely rude door person who was condescending and outright mean. I understand it's a members-only club that has zero tolerance for BS. But it's not an excuse to treat people poorly, especially newcomers. For a pro-queer space, I'm surprised they treat other humans like garbage. It isn't cute.
Seconding the open racism towards Latinos from staff Doorwoman was rude and condescending to me about not stopping in front of her before entry. Despite her not acknowledging my presence until I made said mistake. And I waited/ was visibly hesitant about approaching the door without talking to anyone. Forced me to apologize to her for standing up for myself + security was physically trying to intimidate me as this was going on. Staff is consistently rude. Poor communication of "rules." Their logbook is a freaking notebook and yet they have the audacity to blame entry/membership issues on patrons. Drinks are overpriced and music is bad/hard to dance to. I’m always the 1 out of 2 POC in this space. Never coming back due to unprofessional, rude, and racist staff.
Despite not being an explicitly queer-coded space, this is the nightlife spot I feel absolutely the safest! I love the atmosphere, the people are welcoming, and the staff are attentive and professional. Listen carefully to the rules and be respectful of others and you’ll have a wonderful time 💕
This is THE Seattle goth club. They really enforce the "no bluejeans" rule, though. So be warned. Great music, and a wide open dance floor with perfect lighting. The music is consistently exactly what I need to hear. The drinks are cheap and strong. I recommend their signature mix drinks. The staff is friendly and they maintain an atmosphere of respect and good behavior.
