Good Night John Boy
Good Night John Boy is a standout venue in St. Petersburg, seamlessly blending 1970s nostalgia with modern energy. The decor—think disco-era posters and a classic checkerboard dance floor—creates an immersive atmosphere, while the carefully curated playlist keeps the vibe lively without overstaying its welcome. Friendly staff and a welcoming crowd make it a great spot for socializing or dancing the night away.
The bar excels in hospitality, offering reasonably priced drinks and a warm, inclusive environment that appeals to all ages. Early visits ensure a more comfortable experience, though late crowds can make movement challenging. Owners and staff go above and beyond, from thoughtful gestures to maintaining a fun, era-specific ambiance—though minor tweaks, like song variety and TV programming, could elevate it further.

This place is awesome . From the minute you walk in to the Farah Faucet poster on the wall it bleeds 70s vibe. Music is perfect and the checker board dance floor makes you think you are in the movies with John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever. Everyone is having a great time. The drinks are reasonable priced and the bartenders are super friendly. This is definitely a must stop if you in or near Saint Petersburg Florida. Dance the night away and bring all your friends. You will be the hit of the night !! Thanks Goodnight John Boy for bringing back memories and experiences that I thought would bever happen again !
A special thank you to my friends and family for bringing me to this lovely venue. Not only was I able to dance my butt off but I was able to continue my networking as I look for local talent to continue our creating. Thank you to the door man that let me in after such a long day he was such a pleasure to speak with. Hanging out at the front entrance with those God awful house phones that people can't stand nowadays, loved getting a moment of Reminisce in the old days. Now time for the dance floor!
What a fun place! Girls weekend to Florida brought us to St Pete and several locals suggested we check this place out. So glad we did! 70s hits mixed with newer beats. Great decor and the variety of people enjoying themselves was as entertaining as the place itself! I highly recommend for any age group!
Great spot with fun music and a lively dance floor. Earlier in the evening it’s a really enjoyable atmosphere, but after 9 PM it becomes extremely crowded—so packed that it’s hard to move, which can feel a bit claustrophobic and exhausting. Drinks are on the pricey side (both beer and cocktails), but overall it’s still a fun place. My advice: go early, enjoy the music and dancing, and plan to head out before 9 PM.
the owner was wonderful!! a group of us were sitting outside jannus for waterparks (band) in the morning and it was freezing and he brought us a bunch of free jackets and blankets!! also water as well. definitely recommend checking this place out and sending them love and good vibes!
The dancing never ends and the bar tenders treat you right. Good drinks better atmosphere and great music. Danny upstairs in the loft is the one to find for bubbles and brews.
Love the concept representing my era so it was great to see older people comfortable enough to blend with all age groups while still feeling comfortable. Owners are very personable, wonderful people caring about your experience as well as the staff all very nice. We were very disappointed in some things such as the redundancy loop of songs, roughly 8 songs that were literally played 3 times each within a 3 hr span. The DJ was just ok with his mixing, overdoing it or trying to make the sound more modern but his transitioning between songs was pretty choppy or pre mature within the song. Frankly our group liked the music better that was running prior to the dj. There are so many amazing disco songs that there really is no need to repeat. The tv's that were playing themed shows, music videos etc of the era was suddenly switched off to play an NBA game - really!!! We came here for a consistent full on experience, why drop the ball (disco)? There was literally only 1 tv they kept running the 70's, w/all other tv's on basketball, why not do the opposite and have a couple of tv's to watch the game. Sofa's look thick and cushy until you sit on them, bricks... We'll be back bc it is fun, niche place but will be hopeful the music will be a bit better.
