I’ve visited Aberdeen Lake Park a handful of times over the years, and it had been quite a while since our last trip. This was our first visit since the playground upgrades, and the playground area is definitely different from what we remembered. While the new equipment is nice, one thing I wish modern playground designers would consider is using more neutral or earth-toned colors. The bright, bold colors can feel a bit overwhelming, and sometimes it seems like the experience could become more overstimulating than beneficial for kids. A more natural color palette would blend beautifully with the surrounding scenery and create a calmer environment. We’ve always loved spending time by the water — it’s peaceful and beautiful. The park offers a picnic area, a gazebo, fishing spots, walking trails, and tennis courts, which make it a nice place to spend a few hours outdoors. That said, the gazebo wasn’t very clean during our visit, and the park overall didn’t seem as well maintained as I remembered. There was some trash and debris around the area, and the bathroom facilities could also use a bit of attention. Even though everything wasn’t perfect, nature has a way of being welcoming and soothing. We still enjoyed the serenity of the water and the relaxing scenery. With a little more upkeep, this park could truly shine.

Beautiful park! Super clean, you can tell alot of hard work goes into keeping this park in pristine condition! The trail was so enjoyable to walk, peaceful. Seeing various wildlife as we walked the trail was such a delight!

Great location for a family get together! We had 20+ that met for a cookout. We played outdoor games, some climbed on the slides and playground, and we walked around the lake in the trail. Excellent day! Clean restroom.

Great Park. I think my favorite! The trail is well maintained. Makes for great photo ops. Please please please replace the playground equipment! How can we help get involved to make it happen? The ducks are friendly. Don't feed them bread. Get some waterfowl floating food, or frozen peas:)

This is an underrated gem in this area. It's a great place to walk, bike or take the kids and dog. I understand that the fishing is fair to average here. I'm looking forward to taking our small paddle powered canoe out. There's big open grassy areas and trails. Plus picnic areas and seating around the lake. One big plus is that it's not usually crowded. I do wish they have a greater variety of walking trails. Adding one or two would be useful.

The new building on site had a nice large room for our meeting all operated by the city. Our room had a pull down screen with a projector in the ceiling. I had my computer so the staff set it up so I could show my PowerPoint slide presentation. The room cost $60 for 2 hours and we had to pay a refundable deposit of $100. Very friendly staff who were very helpful. Tables and chairs provided.
