Courtyard by Marriott Anaheim Buena Park

I'm a little torn at how to rate this Courtyard by Marriott location. On one hand, my room was outdated and the elevators to the second floor (this location only has two floors) is not right by the lobby, but rather towards the middle of each hallway, so not very intuitive. The two-queen room I got had a balcony facing the courtyard / pool area, so that was nice, but the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke, even with the air running (I mentioned it to the front desk so I wouldn't get hit with a smoking charge on my account). I did appreciate the empty fridge to store leftovers and drinks and the ability to stream from YouTube on the TV, so I could have what I wanted to watch and listen to for background noise while in the room. On the other hand, there were some perks of staying here. The most convenient thing is that Porto's is across the street. Trust me when I say, do not drive over to Porto's. Take advantage that you're at the hotel across the street and walk over to save time! There's also lots of uncovered parking on both sides of the property, so you can pick where to park to be closer to get to your room, though it's an open lot, so anyone can come in and out and there's no shelter from the rain. The lobby area has been renovated and is really nice if you need the space and quietness to do some work, wait for your room to be ready, or just to hang out. Staff was pretty awesome too. We had to blow up some balloons and they allowed us the use of an empty meeting room so that we do not disturb anyone in the lobby.

Great location. We stayed for 2 nights. The location is great if you are going to Knotts, and there are lots of places to eat. Things that we didn't like were: no Christmas decorations at all. We wanted to feel the holidays, but that was just something we would have liked. Room: No outlets to plug in our chargers next to the bed. The bed was dirty; there were cookies or some sort of crumbs on the bedsheets. We didn't say anything because we were tired, and we also knew the housekeeper was going to clean the room the next day. Before we left for the day, we asked the housekeeper if she could make sure she cleaned the room, and her answer was that she's not assigned to that room. We just assumed she was going to tell the housekeeper who had our room. But we came back at the end of the day, and they didn't clean it. No complementary lotion. We always stay at Marriott hotels because we know it's a guarantee, but this time it was below standard.

We had an excellent stay at the Courtyard Marriott Anaheim Buena Park! The hotel was spotless and modern, and our rooms were comfortable and well-appointed. One of our rooms even had a balcony, which was a great surprise. The drinks at the bistro (shout out to Michael) were top-notch. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making check-in and our overall stay a breeze. We booked here because it’s directly across the street from Medieval Times, and the location couldn’t have been more convenient. You have to get some treats from Porto’s across the street as well. Highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area! It’s a great hotel.

I am writing this review to share a very disappointing experience with Chris, who was working at the front desk at the Courtyard Marriott in Buena Park Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, Chris was not approachable, very unfriendly, and showed little to no customer service skills. As the front desk is the first point of contact for guests, this type of interaction reflects poorly on the hotel and the Marriott brand overall. His demeanor made the experience unpleasant and unwelcoming. As a long-time Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, I expect a basic level of professionalism, courtesy, and willingness to help. Instead, I felt dismissed and undervalued as a guest. Marriott is known for its hospitality, and front desk staff should embody that by being friendly, caring, and willing to go the extra mile for guests. I truly believe the company should reconsider placing individuals with this attitude in such a guest-facing role, as it gives the hotel a bad name and detracts from the overall guest experience.

It's ok - clean, beds were average, air conditioner thermostat didn't work, employees were professional but not overly helpful. There is no 'restaurant', just a bar counter where an employee heats up food. Parking is $12, which is in small print on their website (I didn't see it before making a reservation). Lots of options in the area, we'll go elsewhere next time.

Sheera Reyes is top notch 5 stars and above, she went above and beyond. Great service and nice quiet hotel. Please recognize her! Just too strong of Clorox odor in the hallways, rooms may need some renovation. Carlos

Worst Marriott stay. Found a needle and other diabetic supply stuff in room. Yuck. Shower had variable temps all the time and was always cold in the am. TV didn’t work when I got there. I asked for one room refresh while I was there and it didn’t happen. Staff was loud and kept me up all night in laundry room which I was right next to. Not a very restful experience for a work trip.
