Rue Des Chateaux Beach Access

RDC is my fave spot because its kind of tucked away and you can get a bit more privacy there. There are a lot of stones on the beach right now so everyone gathers in the sandy areas, making it feel a little less spread out. Google seems to think its a trail. Its not a trail, but rather a stair case down to the beach from neighborhood parking. Maybe 30 steps. It's pretty easy. No ADA access. No public restrooms either. There are lot of bike racks, benches, trash/recycle cans, a water fountain, but parking can be an issue on sunny days. Feels very clean and neat and there are no gates that close at certain hours like Beech street access, for example. Surf sometimes works but mostly not. Great place to watch the sunset.

A neat little beach thats tucked away behind a neighborhood. Its usually not too busy and pets are allowed. I love that it was a mixture of sand and rocks. I did not like that there were no restrooms though

Beautiful sunsets! Went the other night and as usual the beach activity is low, it is super chill and relaxed, tucked behind some private residences.

Beautiful stretch of beach. Nice wide open soft sand. Pretty busy depending on when you go. Difficult to find parking but worth it.

A quiet place with a pretty pebble beach and a distant view of the oceanside fishing pier.

Lots of rocks not much of a beach. Limited parking.

Best kept secret in Carlsbad! If you’re looking for a locals only vibe, this is the spot for you!
