George Winter Beach

If you can get there, it’s pretty nice! Relatively sanding bottom. It’s the Meramac River, so the water is a little dirty. Still nice enough to get out in the water to cool off and relax before continuing your trip.

A very nice beach close to George Winter Park and Meramec River, mostly people get there with boats through Meramec river but there is an access through Allen Rd for cars and ATVs, a good place for relaxing, swimming and fishing, and overnight camping,

Boating close to home !! But low water most of the summer

If anyone has directions exactly on how to reach it PLEASE share!!! We tried for over an hour to get to the George Winter Beach area people keep saying has road access but we found nothing. Everyone we asked in the area either said they e never heard of it or reachable likely by water. If we come back, we will try access by water next time but after 2 hrs of kayaking in the main park section it was already late in the day so didn’t want to venture out without knowing how long it’d take.

I just found out this was the George Winter Beach, not the George Winter Park. The two places are right next to one another, contrary to what Google Map direction tells you. Both are accessible easily from Allen Road. Nice open water swimming.

Nice little beach. It IS accessible by road and it is not hard to find.

Every time we go there, there is a black dog that the owners let run wild. It pees on our cooler and kids toys. This has happened multiple times.
