Surfside Beach

Beautiful area. Able to drive right onto the beach but there is sufficient parking right outside entrance. To the right it's pedestrian only beach. If you're interested, there is historical information about the jetties as well as the Intercostal Waterway located in the parking lot.

Beautiful beach, not too busy. there’s vehicle access on the left, pedestrian access on the right. police officers were a bit rude, but oh well they must’ve had a bad day. th beach is also dog friendly, BUT YOUR DOG MUST BE LEASHED, AND YOU MUST AVOID THE DUNES. there’s rattlesnakes in there, and you can be fined up to $500 if caught in them.

Nice small beach close to Houston. In my opinion, it is better than Galveston if it is just a day-trip and if you like to swim with a bunch of waves. The people that go there are usually friendly, and I made a couple of friends last time. There are sand dunes in which some snakes and turtle eggs live/are found, but you’re not allowed to walk or lay on the dunes. It’s a natural habitat that must be protected. It’s pretty safe. I see police officers walking around regularly and there are bathrooms and a parking lot big enough for everyone

Surfside Beach Galveston is consistently perfect! I’ve been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. Clean, beautiful, and the perfect vibe for a family day or a quiet walk. True 5 stars every single time. Love this place!

Great free camping. Close to stores but a little pricey. Lake Jackson is only 13mi.

Went this beach on Saturday afternoon and had a really great time!! An hour away from houston with a decent water quality and nice beach without too much of a crowd. You can buy parking permit either from beach entrance or circle K near the beach but be aware that circle K only has annual permit ($30) not the daily one ($15). There are some debris on the beach so it’d be best if you bring aqua shoes or just flip flops, but under water the sand is so soft and there are no debris under water. Definitely a good beach to spend the weekend afternoon.

Interesting to see and beautiful beautiful beach, easy access by car. Attention: permit needs to be purchased if you want to park on the beach. Rattlesnakes in the dunes presumably, so just don't walk into the dunes. Didn't see any.
