Pretty place with lots of space. Bring your own shade and you will enjoy your time more. The only downside was that the water plant life had been recently trimmed and it was floating everywhere.
Favorite spot to take my kids. Clean water. Wouldn't recommend going on a holiday if your a local. It can get really congested at those time. Other than that, all around great place to spend the day. Vets get in free.
Not crowded at all but we went on Monday afternoon. It is a lake so water was not clear, lots of grass and fish came right up to us.
Paid $20 to visit the "Beach area", realized when we got here it is in fairly rough shape with piles of rotting vegetation and a few dead fish. A bulldozer was trying to work on it when we arrived but really just tore up the beach. The smell is pretty bad at times. The kids have still had a good time and it's possible the mess is due to all the rain and storms we've had recently - just something to be aware of before you come. Maybe just lower your expectations before you get here 😬😄
Really wanted to love this beach and lake, but we came for first visit from Tennessee and after 5 hour drive we were welcomed to a beautiful state park and campground. Thinking this place would be awesome only to be unpleasantly surprised to find the beach area and lake were full of floating eelgrass, so much so if you're swimming or floating as we were the grass is clinging all over you. Disgusting is how I would describe it. We even tried to renting a boat and go farther onto the lake Thinking maybe it would be better away from the shoreline. But no it's everywhere so bad it was wrapping up in prop and had to stop and clear motor to even continue on . Would not recommend this lake for any recreational activities at all. Tva needs to get a handle on this stuff somehow
Guntersville Beach is a small Sandy Strip Where Local swim in the Summer. The city keep it clean and safe. No lifeguards are on duty here so it's "At your risk"
We had a wonderful time hanging out at the man-made Beach. There was a nice scenic route along the way. We went later that evening so it wasn't very crowded. It was a mixed crowd. The kids really had a great time. I would recommend taking blankets and chairs. There was a lot of parking in a camping rental area not far from where we was at. Overall awesome
