Simmons Island Park

This would be a great place for daily runs or walks. I saw people having picnics in the grass and playing in the sand next to the water. There were people walking their dogs too. The rule is dogs must be leashed 100% of time spent there.

Clean and peaceful. Great view! Plenty of parking. Path for biking and walking. Beach is clean and spacious. Rocky area is great for climbing, as well as sitting. Definitely a place to add to a "must visit".

Beautiful park with direct access to the beach. Lots of open space as well as slides and jungle gyms for kids to play on.

Wonderful beach! Love walking along the shore looking for rocks and glass.

If you are looking for a nice place to swim, walk, or just take in the beauty of the Great Lake Michigan, this is the place! There are restrooms and a rinse station for when you are done in the sand. As well as plenty of photo opportunities with the Lighthouse at the point. We had a blast here swimming and playing in the waves. The water was cool, but not as cold as up north by Mackinac Bridge. The sand extends far into the water, so minimal rocks. We got away with being barefoot and went pretty far out.

This place is definitely a gem. I drove from MO to get here, which was over 9 hours and this was breathtaking to see.... The water was absolutely freezing so couldn't do much in it for myself. But just relaxing and enjoying the sounds was well worth it.

My favorite beach spot! Two great things: Plenty of open space, and if you don't want to be in direct sun, there's an area shaded by trees!! Plenty parking space, no fee's, lots of picnic tables all around, nice grass areas, a shelter as well, a lighthouse you can walk up to and watch kids/teens jump and dive (see pics) The only thing missing was a bicycle, but that has nothing to do with this beach.
