Gansevoort Beach is such a unique and relaxing spot in the city. It’s amazing to find a stretch of sand right on the Hudson where you can sit back, unwind, and take in some of the best views in Manhattan. From here, you get a stunning look at the World Trade Center, the Statue of Liberty off in the distance, and the skyline stretching down through Lower Manhattan. It’s the perfect place to bring a coffee, read, or just sit quietly by the water for a while. On a nice summer day, you might even spot a few geese hanging out by the beach, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. Whether you come for the views, the calm, or just to enjoy something truly different in New York, Gansevoort Beach is a hidden gem worth visiting.
Every city has its own personal feel-good spot for every resident and visitor. Gansevoort Beach in the Meatpacking District is definitely mine 🥰 Where else in the middle of Manhattan can you find the finest beach sand with lounge chairs and sun umbrellas? Buy your breakfast to-go from your favorite Café and head to Gansevoort Beach. A day couldn't start better.
Nice little adult sandbox. Lots of places to sit and watch the mighty Hudson keep-a rollin'.
I really don’t get the appeal. Kayaked here—would not recommend it. The kayak ramp is a straight up liability, and the recreation area is completely covered in goose poop—you literally can’t take a step without being in it. I understand there’s only so much you can do, but basic maintenance with a power washer would go a long way.
Was nice just to chill for 5 minutes, there was a few folk sunbathing, it’s quite as saves heading to a beach which is miles away.
Unexpectedly fresh design of the pier: it starts with a garden like entrance and opens up to a sandy beach leveled to an actual Hudson River, much lower to the water than other piers. Pretty cool to come by or stay longer.
