Shark Reef Resort

My friends made a reservation at this hotel and wow — what a beautiful place! Super clean, with comfortable and spotless beds. The house we stayed in had everything we needed to cook, so we only had to worry about buying groceries. The service from Cici was incredible — very helpful, respectful, and attentive. This kind of customer service makes you want to come back. She left us with a very good impression and honestly, we will definitely return! Highly recommended for couples and friends. 10/10!

I had a great stay at this motel. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was cozy, and everything I needed was provided. CC from housekeeping is very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The owner is always so welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and kind which made check-in quick and stress-free as always. The location is convenient, with easy access to nearby restaurants and stores. The motel was quiet at night, and I felt safe during my stay. Overall, it offered excellent value for the price, and I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. I’ve always chosen Shark Reef because of the owner—why this place is underrated is beyond me. I even once forgot my deposit, and the owner mailed me a check a few days later. I was there just a couple of days ago and will be back again today. Thank you for everything.

We have stayed at Shark Reef several times and this was without a doubt our worst stay! First of all, more electrical outlets are needed in rooms. We constantly had to unplug lamp, microwave, etc.so we could plug in our devices. The remote to a/c was missing and we could not change temp in room. The room had a funky smell, which we chalked up to being a 'dog room', and the floor was so dirty you had to wear shoes at all times. The courtyard/pool area is nice, except for every time we took our dog out to potty, he got stickers in his paws. The first shower we took backed up the tub so we called office and they said they'd send someone to fix it. Two different maintenance men came in and out of our room multiple times and didn't wear masks (during height of COVID19). They were unable to fix plumbing so moved us to a new room. About 20 min after checking into new room the people in room next to us took off on golf carts and left their poor puppy in room to bark for hours. Also, it was nearly impossible to open door to our room. It stuck and didn't fit in frame and made it extremely difficult to enter room. ||Shark Reef is one of the cheaper motels to stay at on the island, but after this stay we will definitely pay a little more to stay somewhere else where we won't have so many issues.

Me and my boyfriend have been staying here two times now . He left his Apple watch for 3 months and they have saved it for us when we returned ! They’re truly amazing and a life saver! We love Port Aransas so much and this is our go to place to stay now , after staying in other hotels , this place offers so much comfort and they are flexible also and allowed us to stay a while longer. We love them !! (We also love their no smoking policy)

My niece was married in Port Aransas last weekend and she found this place for lodging for family. She had a contract with them and rooms were to be paid for by each guest as they checked in but my poor sister had to prepay the rooms despite a contract! The room was ok but they stuck the parents of the bride in the worst room - a king room with a shabby bathroom that looked like the grout needed replacing and a king bed with no box spring mattress!! The lighting in the rooms is terrible. But the place was clean and the pool and play area was nice. The hospitality at the front desk when I arrived was lacking and they were rude. They didn't really care to ensure everyone's rooms were right and wanted us out the door to close the front office the night we arrived. When I went to return the keys the day of departure there was no one at the front desk and I was once again just ushered out by a lady in another room saying just leave the keys! Overall it's ok if you need a place to stay but don't look for hospitality or any decent customer service here.

The first impression of the room looks nice but there were roaches and the toilet didn’t work properly we had to fill it with water to flush. The Wi-Fi is very slow and the pool wasn't open until the times stated. The location was the only plus.

This place is awesome. Comfy beds and clean rooms. Had a slight issue at check in and the owner went above and beyond to remedy. Hot tub and pool is great and big grassy area for pets and kids. We will be back!
