If you’re looking for a peaceful little escape from the city buzz, Pocket Beach is a sweet surprise tucked just north of the Olympic Sculpture Park. I stumbled upon it during a morning walk and honestly—it felt like finding a secret spot only locals know about! You get incredible views of the Puget Sound & the ferries gliding by. The driftwood and smooth stones lining the shore give it a natural, untouched feel. It’s also a great spot to watch the sunset or take a break from nearby sightseeing.
This is exactly what the name implies: a perfect little 'pocket' of a beach tucked away along the Seattle waterfront. It's a true hidden gem for anyone looking to escape the city bustle for a few quiet moments without having to go far. The beach itself is made of smooth, grey pebbles that are perfect for skipping stones. The large driftwood logs that wash up make for excellent natural benches to sit and watch the world go by. What's really special is the view. You get an expansive, peaceful look at Puget Sound, with the constant, quiet parade of ferries and huge cargo ships gliding past in the distance. It’s a simple, beautiful, and very classic Seattle scene. This isn't a sandy, swimming-and-sunbathing type of beach. Instead, it's an urban escape. It's the perfect spot to read a book, eat a quiet lunch, or just watch the water. It's located right along the Elliott Bay Trail, making it an ideal stopping point during a walk or bike ride. A wonderful, serene spot.
A nice and scenic walk beside the Elliot bay. Can get chilly and windy near the pier so bundle up to not hurt your neck. No place to sit but time does fly watching the waves at high tide and the stunning sunset views are just the cherry on top here no cap. You can also spot the beautiful mt rainier on a clear day. Magnificent sight if you ask me
Although small, this beach in Myrtle Edwards Park offers stunning views. It’s not your typical beach, as there is no sand—just rocks. Nonetheless, it’s a great spot for appreciating the scenery and capturing captivating photos.
Wow this spot is secretive, hidden, quiet/peaceful and absolutely perfect to watch a sunset from! Gorgeous views of ferries, sailboats, the Puget Sound, downtown Seattle, the mountain range and Mount Rainier!! Totally can’t wait to enjoy another beautiful sunset here! Very clean and respected park, open 24 hrs too!
This is a great place to sit any time of the day and just enjoy the bay and the Sound. It's so peaceful. Today was the perfect day to sit and watch the sunset here.
So beautiful small beach. Nice to hear the waves. Was so sunny after rain on Christmas. My daughter wanted to check this beach before headed back to Alaska, after she surprised Me and My Son for Christmas. So beautiful. Many people out jogging walking and with pets. I saw few washed up needles. But nice stop!
