Picnic Island Park

Picnic Island has been part of my life since I was a kid. I used to come here with all my cousins and ride our bikes back when Tampa wasn’t nearly as busy, about 25 years ago. It was really special coming back with my church to serve and help clean up the mangroves. We had an absolute blast giving back to a place that holds so many memories for me. It’s great to see how well the park is being taken care of and how much it has improved over the years.

Nice area to bring the kids. There was a lot of people swimming and having fun. You can rent the picnic areas and there are big grills. We had fun we played volleyball and a huge area for Disc golf. All around we had fun...

My family loves going here. It has alot of space for the kids to run around, a playground, a beach, and fishing area. Lots of recreational things to do. There is a canoe launch if you have a canoe and they offer paddleboard rentals.

A great little place here in South Tampa. Picnics, fishing, plane watching, dog beach, frisbee golf, boating, and even some wildlife to watch. Whether it is a couple hours , or the whole day, this place will be your spot for fun in the sun.

It's a nice quiet beach. There's bathrooms/restrooms close enough. There's a good view of downtown St Pete. Only downside is there was smell on the day we went that made the whole beach smell like a port-a-potty. Since no one else mentioned it, I think it must not be all the time. It could be the old seaweed still on the beach.
